@@BuddyChy If you're under contract it's up to the company or organization to do what they will with you. Morally it sucks for the player but organizations gotta do what they need to keep its self ahead. Another thing is you signed the contract if you're top of the league (talent) you can have multiple 1 year deals instead of multiple year deals to avoid situations like org/business holding you hostage. If you're bottom well then you won't be kept around and or desperate for a spot so it doesn't matter.

@@kennynguyen5248 they didn’t sign a 2 year deal, they signed a 1+1 with a team option, but the team shouldn’t be able to use that team option if they have no intention of you being on the roster. That’s abusing power and something the league should prevent. Easier said than done but it’s still taking advantage of players. That’s why they need a players association so that they can communicate and negotiate with the league to make sure the players are treated fairly.

Now you can do a 1 year and a player options but from the looks of it it would seem the players or thier lawyers didn't sign up for that.

Players need to look at negotiations and have some clauses to have some possible gain ( if team isn't looking to use them for the 2nd year they have a release clause of 100k, like a reduced buy out fee to still benefit the org but also give the player freedom)
