I stated this today and love it. It looks so beautiful and the dialogue is straight to the point making it easy to read. My only problem is the timing thing... I hate that and idk why so many rpgs have that now. It almost ruins it for me because I just want to chill and just think without sweating and it makes me fucking stress about getting the perfect timing and I feel like shit whenever I miss. To me it's 2 types of gameplay that don't match and requires you to switch "states" and breaks the flow of gameplay. It's like if in an fps game when you point at the enemy and pull the trigger there was a menu opening to select the bullet type or something. I wish they made an option to just remove it.

I've been waiting for this for so long. I don't think the shortcomings will be a deal breaker for me personally, the art style won me over from day 1.

So definitely added to the wishlist . No rush , but it looks good .

I think the art style and story in awesome But the mechanics and item or skills are too shallow It could be so much better if it stays in the oven for a year or so

I had a feeling that this wasn’t really for me when I first saw that. And this review has only confirmed that. I think jrpg fans might get something out of it, but with those shortcomings, even if I had been interested, I would be waiting to get it. Thanks for the review.

This isn't gonna scratch my jrpg itch, to be honest. It's nice, but I tried the demo and it just didn't slap for me. Would consider it at half price in a year though.

Getting this. For an indie game with this unique and artstyle bringing some interesting new concepts to the genre, those are flaws I can live with

I just played Cris Tales demo on Nintendo Switch and loved everything about it except where I struggle to time my "A" button accurately to trigger the parry / deflect move against enemy units attacks or trigger double attacks on enemy units. I hoped @CrisTalesGame do patch an easy mode to auto-block enemy attacks, post launch of the game. I truly want to enjoy and experience the story in Cris Tales full game without having to throw the controller at the wall in fustration. I will hate to reset the same enemy battle for the n-th time because the game ccould not register my input to trigger block and parry enemy attacks. I would want Cris Tales to be my new favourite time travel mechanic video game if it is not bogged down by its unreasonably strict input timing window which I experienced in the demo. I would wait for a sale before I get this game.

Totally forgot about it so I'll be picking up the physical edition Friday.

Just bought this physical @ gamestop for like 10 bucks... really having a great time with this one, the art style is delightful and the dialog it's pretty darn good... worth picking up if you're looking for something different, for sure!

I know a lot of folks were super stoked for this one. Thankfully this review was informative enough to convince me to pass. The story ideas seem interesting, but the art is just....off-putting to me for some reason. Can't put my finger on it, aside for one thing - the battle menu. Great review! Not that it really matters but this game is technically not Japanese. It was actually developed by a studio in Columbia. It is a love song to classic JRPGs though :)

Just picked up a copy for $12, for a cheap switch rpg, this looks pretty unique and the art style is really cool.

I actually played the demo of this a little while back and really liked it so I'm definitely going to be picking it up at some point.

Backlog is huge so this is not an immediate pickup for me. Will wait for patches and sales in the future before buying. Thanks for the review 👍

Actually it's pretty meh if you ask me. There are tons of better RPGs on the system. No hate or anything, it looks good but it doesn't achieve what I want in a RPG, most of the dialogue are bland and uninteresting. Combat system is a bit weird but okay and to me the music is forgivable. Still a solid game to wait until SMT V.

80% in and this game is the worst game ever where boss will heal/regenerate twice per turn so you can never beat them.

I loved the demo but didn't pre-order. I did buy it day one tho and only put in about an hour (less then the demo) the reviews have me regretful and worried tho. I can't get my money back but i can wait a couple months for it to hopefully get patched into being better.

Hello great video I did not see it in full because I want to play it well, a doubt before buying it ... does it have good difficulty? The bosses are challenging or is it the typical RPG that is easy and great in gameplay? and in how many hours did you finish it?

5h in and damn, was that first dungeon tricky... But I love everything so far, the art style is up my alley and I find the story and gameplay very engaging!

A 7/10 wow!! U want to revist the world of cris tales? Are u sure? U gave it a 7/10 a score lije that doesnt seem warrant a revisit. Anyway i liked the demo. This game is hard! At least the demo was hard (which i beat by the way). I wanted to get the collectors edition bit it isnt worth 100 dollars and plus it doesnt come with a soundtrack. Modus is trying is gamers to see if we're foolish enough to biy it so other companies can over charge us. Looking forward to this game I'll be pocking it up today at BestBuy and i also have it on gamepass.

I beat persona 5 on the best ending on the og PS4 I think I can hang with loading times.

It's just RPG not JRPG, the game gave me cartoon network vibes. I haven't finished the game but it's kinda meh.

I love JRPG's but there something about this "Samurai Jack" art style I just don't like. Not knocking anyone that likes it, it's just not for me.

I love this game. Im no game developer or counsel maker but one thing i do know technology will get a mind of its own an just NOT work with u then out the BLUE it change its mind and start working again. I have a switch and honestly, some games do it faster and some do it a bit slower but overall all are playable and quiet enjoyable. Im someone with NO PATIENCE and when i say NONE i mean only babies and kids get the patience from me, everything else? yh imma explode. but this is a fun game.
