South Sudan, the world’s newest nation, is also one of its poorest. In December 2013, fighting erupted between government forces and rebel factions. Nearly a year after the start of the conflict, 1.9 million people have been displaced from their homes and are in need of food, healthcare and safety. The International Rescue Committee has been providing emergency assistance to more than 800,000 people. We're also urging the international community to support the protection of civilians and push a lasting political resolution to this crisis. Learn more at www.Rescue.org/SouthSudan.
