Crispy Fried Crab Stick Appetizers - Finger Food - Quick and Easy Recipe - 油炸蟹柳条開胃菜

If you're looking for a last minute idea for an appetizer, try this super quick and easy recipe using only crab sticks and some spices. I made this for my office's Christmas holiday potluck lunch and it was a HIT!
Ingredients
1 lb (483 g) crab sticks
1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (120 g) bread crumbs
1 egg
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
2 qt oil for deep-frying

I can definitely hear how crispy they were as you are plating these gorgeous fried crab sticks. Beautiful presentation btw. They look like mozzarella sticks, but with much different taste and texture. Appetizers like these are my favorite as it doesn't require much work and all the spices are readily available in our pantry. I like your tip on using different hands for dry/wet ingredients, it will be less messy while the dry ingredients will adhere to the imitation crab sticks much more evenly. Also a great idea to let it set before frying otherwise the breadcrumbs will all go in the oil.
