People are too quick to judge. 22/23 was his first bad season in years, but people seem to forget how good he was in the 21/22 season. I didn’t see half as much hate when messi scored 6 goals in an entire season and wasn’t even nominated for the 2022 ballond’or, whereas 37 year old Ronaldo was.

The last time CR7 had a worse calendar year than 2022 in terms of goal contributions was ... in 2004 ... In 2023, he already has the same number of goal contributions as 2022, with LITERALLY half as many games played ...

@@padoo_ I meant his ENTIRE career: not just season 21/22. When i say i have his stats in calendar years, i mean ALL of his career, which is how i can directly compare 2022 with any other year. Still, and checking via messivsronaldo, the last time CR7 had as bad a season as 22/23, was in 05/06: 28 goal contributions in 22/23 to 25 goal contributions in 05/06, EIGHTEEN SEASONS ago. Despite the 2022 portion of the season being much poorer than the 2021 portion, he STILL managed to cross the 30 goal mark that season, @ 36 / 37 years old: SEVERELY underrated, IMO.

some people don’t understand the difficulty of the saudi league.. the same keepers saved neymar’s penalty, one of the best penalty takers & also made some incredible saves.. & now it’s all getting more difficult & competitive, not to mention, al-hilal is a top 15 club in the world which got 2nd in the club world cup.. & now within about a month, 10+ people have joined.. i’m not saying this league has insane potential, i’m just saying, don’t underestimate it.

My fear is that CR7 won't be picked by the coach for the next Euro: UNLESS he's playing EXTREMELY WELL just before the Tournament, i just don't see the coach picking him because of his age, depending of the form of Portugal's other strikers ... In his prime - Man Utd teen and RMA teen time (Playmaking from Midfield area) Crucial RMA leaving time - CF (Mr.UCL time) But now, they still make him play at Mid...Like he could still deliver clinical finishes and run ups as CF... But, they don't wanna do it , yet he still keeps working on his dribbling than past juve days.... In my opinion, he now a potential finisher with not a good club.....

Unfortunately, it looks tough for his club this season. Many other surrounding clubs have got major players, some even in their prime. It would be interesting to see how much he can contribute in a Saudi League title charge which is probably still possible.

The circumstances are not important (comeback, good performance with a weak team etc.). Only the pure performance on the pitch matters. Pls do you research or name only performances when you are sure that they are the best
