I just can't imagine how hard it has to be, playing at your top level year after year after year, shutting down all doubters and haters, winning trophies, breaking records every weekend and this for 20 years in a row. But then after 1 bad season people forget who you are and what you did in your career. It has to be so exhausting for ronaldo, being told for past 3 years that he's finished and useless after all that he has done. Playing out your soul every game and knowing that even if you take 1 small break, people are going to lynch you for that small break that you had. never injured, never gave up. This man is a complete cyborg, probably the best and most complete football player that we've ever seen. Those things happen to him because he's Ronaldo. No hate towards Messi but people just "like" Messi more. Every person that has eyes and smallest understanding of this sport can see what an absolute genius Ronaldo is. When he retires, sadly, he won't get the recognition that Messi will get. Just because he is controversial. This man carried every team, season for season on his shoulders without taking a break and being an absolut shield and sponge for his whole squad who was injured, playing bad and probably not even supporting him some times, when they lost or went trophyless. All the blame didn't go to his team but mostly towards him. I mean, come on. What a sick player do you have to be when people are more surprised that you didn't score for one game instead of when you score a hat-trick. He's a legend. He's a leader. This man is a GOAT.

I didn't notice it at the time because I don't watch La Liga, but his knee injury really took the skills out of his game from what I've heard/seen Obvious his legs were always gonna go at this age, but he really doesn't have many moves in his locker these days which is sad to see. Used to always seem to have something new for the fans

He learnt to dribble less and be more efficient/direct - Ferguson’s rules. If you watch Ronaldo in his early United days, all his did was dribble. By the time he left, he dribbled a lot less

To me Ronaldo as his peak is the most complete player ever. Every aspect of his game was on another level. Also at his peak, his goal ratio of 1.08 a game is insane along with the other records he set. Prime Ronaldo is the GOAT for me.

100% FACTS. Ronaldo has the SECOND most completed dribbles of ANY player this century behind only Messi, a diminutive player with a low center of gravity like most great dribblers, whereas Ronaldo is very tall and most tall players are NOT stellar lateral dribblers - Ronaldo is the rare exception. Ronaldo is a MONSTER. In his prime imo he is the GOAT. Super freakish athleticism meets super freakish technique and you have Ronaldo. If Portugal could put a half decent team in 2010 and 2014 i think he could have won the WC. 2007 Ronaldo & 2012 Ronaldo > Any version of Messi. I stand by that. Ronaldo's ability as a TARGET MAN alone would put him as a top 20 player ever. You can play Ronaldo literally anywhere in the midfield or attack - if you played him as a CDM, and he was actually committed to the role, he would be a beast of a CDM just on pure athleticism.

And they were all very efficient. Cr7 skills are not always efficient. Please watch a clip of R9 skiĺls and you will see the amount of talent he had.... He is one of my favourite players ever. When Ronaldo was called for the first team still a teenager we all immediately knew. Back then we was a winger and whenever he got time play the stadium would absolutely lose it. He feared nothing, he was not like Figo or Sabrosa or any other player from Sporting's academy debuting in the first league. No fear, face opponents straight forward one on one. One after the other, crossing, shooting. His goal against Leiria with just 17 years old is an absolute hymn to football. Haters think Ronaldo got it all from hard work but his talent was immense he just decided to put all the hard work he could on top of that talent and he evolved from a killer winger into a scoring beast because that's what all the greats do, goals. If I could be a great footballer I would want to be like Van Basten, Pele, Voller, Klinsmann, Ronaldo R9, Ibrahimovic, the GOAT Ronaldo.

Afzal Ahmad his playing style suffered a little because he put on muscle. I remember he rocked up at the 2006 world cup looking like a body builder. I felt that he shouldn't have done that and should have kept his natural build. I believe he would have been an even better player because he was much faster and much more agile before he made the change. Part of that is premier league influence. Its why I wished he had gone to Madrid earlier or had signed to Barca when they tried to get him. I think he would have won even more balon d'ors.

Truly agree his nutmegs got filthier as he ages. His nutmegs used to be really clean and smooth. Defenders improved too.
