Individuals living with COPD and asthma are at increased risk of vaccine-preventable diseases with potential long-term complications and poorer outcomes. While preventive measures such as vaccinations have been recommended, vaccination coverage for older adults remains low. The aim of this webinar is to increase the awareness of the risk and burden of vaccine-preventable diseases in patients with COPD and asthma, using herpes zoster and respiratory syncytial virus as case studies to highlight the role pulmonologists can play in combating the burden of infectious diseases.
