I was hooked, I feel bad others didn't like it as much; because I feel like this kind of campaign is tailor-made for me 😅 The lengthy story telling actually helped me stayed focused, whereas games with a lot of back and forth and fighting are hard for me to focus on. But this? I hyperfixated for four and half hours and havent stopped thinking about it since. It felt like a movie to me. My literal only problem was that I wanted to hear more from Noshir/Emmisary, but when he finally got the chance, he ended up up actually just being very quiet, lol. Which is great, for character/story stuff, but every time Ice Groot spoke, my heart swooned, ❤ and I just want more.

The thing is, this ep had everything.... A ton of information that you needed 1 hour to explain, so i'll rewatch and come back later to this gem of channel. Tnx for the insanely good recap as always

At that part with the names they were all their possibilities overlaid so it's barley discernible because no one name is fully locked in.

Was a fantastic episode in my opinion. We discovered where divinity came from to Exandria. I'm assuming that it was Predathos that ended Tengar. Imiry becoming Asmodeus was insane as well. Loved how the cast portrayed the Prime Deities, especially Nick and Laura as Pelor and the Matron. Loved the introduction of the Betrayers, namely Asmodeus as Croust (Faust). Looking forward to how the cast rends Aeor apart. Also loved the familial interactions between everyone. We got to see divinity descend twice. Once from infinite possibilities to their existing godlike forms, and a second time to mortality as they assumed their avatars on the surface of Exandria.

I love it and I can't wait to listen again when it's on KZfaq. It's going to be a lot of fun to watch Brennan run two games about "families" who get reincarnated as different people. I want to see the character sheets.

I loved it, but i was confused as hell the entire ride, and totally cool with that lol. I did have to put it on 1.25x though because Brennan was talking so slowly for effect haha

Can’t wait for the rest of the episodes, but god damn if their wasn’t some confusing parts in this episode, and I’m not talking about the beginning that was pretty understandably abstract, but the stuff on aeor and knowing which gods were which. And why the player characters were so bold and important,

This was a very interesting episode. I'm looking forward to seeing the other two episodes.

It makes sense why people struggle with this episode, Abstraction and descriptions of abstraction are very hard for some people to process out right. I fking loved every single moment of it, and I immediately realized what was going on as they slowly unravelled dialogue and subtle responses. Loved it sooo much. IDC what anyone says.. campaign three is by far the best campaign in my opinion, hands down.

I normally listen to episodes during work. And tune in whenever a high moment comes in. This episode i listened to didnt understand anything xD Had to watch it to finally understand wat was being said

I like this far better than the 2 part episode that aabria did as despite her 2 part being around 5 hours and this 1 episode is around 4, so about the same length, this didn't feel long. There was no combat and very little use of spells and abilities, but it was entertaining, and it makes me want to know what happens next while the last break was me asking is it over yet. And now, knowing about sam's medical stuff, I'm more lenient about them wasting 2 episodes on that then as soon as he gets back they do another 3 without him.

I enjoyed all of it from beginning to end. Was very interested to found out what exactly was happening and which god each of the characters were. I think I've done a halfway decent job. I want to see more dynamic between the gods and their relationships with one another

The question i have is if the first light being to disappear into the new tree. I dont think qe see them again. And idk which deity that one could b. Maybe the luxon who got there way b4 even the elemental titans show up. But thats just my theory. Unless they say who that first one becomes.

Alright, we seem to know wich prime deities are taking action, but do we have enough to say wich betrayers apeared?

I love critical role and I love all three seasons ❤ I don’t know what it is about C3 but right when I’m really getting into it they take the show in some big and different direction that for me isn’t always the most exciting or easy to follow. I like the idea of learning about Aeor’s downfall but after just a few minutes into the episode I found the lengthy, in-depth and detailed descriptions of the character introductions to be hard to follow and a lil too much on the artsy and elaborate side of story telling. Sometimes I wish campaign three was a little bit more like campaign two :) you know, a group of badass tricksters kicking ass and taking names. Crushing quest and doing good. 💙💚🖤🤍 I miss the simplicity of campaign two. Thanks for letting me chat and I know I’m in the minority but that’s okay :) love the channel man! Thanks!

Meh I didn't like I don't like how they put one shots in the middle of a campaign... they should be separate, I don't want to see a complete new story, I want to see what happens in campaign 3... Not this... It frustrates me they're doing this... The unlimited exandria made sense because of Sam's cancer, but ugh really?

Not only did I find that audio distortion to be awkward, like many others in chat, but the party dynamic seems awkward as well. The prologue was definitely scripted. And with all the new faces, it just seemed like everyone was sitting in detention listening to the teacher. Everything just seemed off. it seemed like they were very uncomfortable being there, like a blind date you didn't even know you had until they showed up and your friend said, oh by the way, this person here is single too, why don't you hang out and talk...

Are you reading word for word what the players were saying?

As expected, I dropped out about twenty minutes in and don't plan to come back. I realized what it is: when Matt DMs, he'll bring the hammer down or do a gross-out when it's appropriate, but generally it feels like it's respectful of boundaries and working more with his players. When Brennan DMs, it's the Brennan Lee Mulligan Show, and don't you forget it. Just the opening to Calamity says it all: "but keep in mind that you have a mouth full of blood" and this poor new player is like "WTF". It seems like making people uncomfortable for effect and that's, like, something most of us grow out of in our 20s. Also, thanks for recapping so I'm still good not watching :-)
