On 5/15/24 Henderson Fire Department was dispatched to a trail rescue in the McCullough mountain range regarding a person who was stuck in a slot canyon with no food or water. There was poor reception on the cell phone which made it difficult to stay in connection with the person and hard to pin point where they were. Henderson Fire Department Engine 99, Trail Response Vehicle 99 (TRV99) Battalion 9, Operations Support Officer (OSO( and Rescue 98 were dispatched to the west side of the mountain range while Truck 82 and Heavy Rescue 82 carrying TRV82 were dispatched on the east side were they all staged until they could pin point where the subject was. After the location was determined Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Search And Rescue (SAR) Air 1 was requested to make the rescue as it was extremely difficult terrain and off trails. Air 1 searched for approximately 40 minutes before they put two rescuers in the canyons to search for the subject. The subject was located right after their cell phone died and lost connection with Henderson dispatch. Air 1 was able to extricate and transport the subject back to the west side of the mountains and was transported by rescue 98 to a local hospital for treatment.
