I'm 37 and remember my hardcore/punk friend raving all about the Cro Mags back in the '80s. I also remember them coming down on tour in '88 and seeing some kids in school wearing the concert shirts. I was a metalhead and VERY closed-minded, so I never gave stuff like this a chance back then. I'll always love metal, but I'm glad as hell I opened my mind up to bands like the CM.

Saw them in 87 at Christmas on Earth festival in Leeds England. Megadeth headlined, but the buzz was all about the Cro mags that day. And rightly so too, they were amazing and this 17 year old had never seen anything like it at the time.
@beelzebubbles6664 жыл бұрын
First saw them back in 89 at the Christmas day on earth thrash festival in Leeds UK. Nuclear assault, Kreator, Megadeth, Virus, Overkill, Laaz Rocket, where also on the bill. Cro mags were fantastic, and the result of which saw myself buying the The Age of Quarrel the very next day on US import (Vinyl of course!) Costing over ten quid!!!! Worth every penny!!!

So true, brother. This just CRUSHES any of the new school "hard core". Whenever I wear my Cro Mags Age of Quarrel t-shirt, my chest just naturally puffs up a little, and that shirt always causes a sensation wherever I go among other old school punks who know what's up...

When this album was played (I had the tape cassette back in the day), it was played from start to finish as loud as the speakers could handle. Best listened to with good friends and cold beers! NYHC and especially the 'Mags had a big influence on the direction of music from the classic metal heavy era (pre 1980s) into thrash metal era (late 1980s and early 1990s)! The Mags even toured with Megadeth and Motorhead! How cool would that show have been?! 🔥🎸🎼🤘
