Great video, thank you for sharing your experiences. For me, as a Finn, we have four seasons and the summer lasts three months: June, July, August. It is more about the sunlight than temperature. :) I have been in Croatia three times. It's a great country.

Logically you should be surprised it's so warm in Finland. About 30% of the country is above the arctic circle, so it's really a wonder how there can be a real summer of any length here, even if it's just weeks.

As a finn for me, if I see an stranger goes in with a bikini or wearing shorts in the sauna, I would be automatically would think: "That person is hiding something". In olden days, sauna was used for birth and give the last sauna, before the person moves on into the afterlife.

As a Croatian I've visited Finland for a week in June and the biggest shock was the daylight. I've arrived at around 22:00 and there was still daylight, crazy! Another thing that I found really difficult is having a small talk with other Fin's which is quite normal in Croatia. Funny how a country that's in 3h flying zone is so much different! :D

Pro tip for those moving here: get dark sun-proof curtains or you won't sleep during summer

Summer is short? Well sure if you think that summer has to be warmer than 30 degrees! The interesting thing is that almost no Finn likes that kinds of temperatures. Myself e.g. find everyting above 25 to be only worse, not better at all, i.e. the optimal is 20 to 25 degrees and absolutely not a degree more. By the way, we Finns normally measure summer by the amount of daylight in addition to temperature. And the bright period - days longer than 16 hours and nights not really being dark - is three months. Here, I am talking about Helsinki. How many such days do you have in Croatia? Of course I know the answer - not a single one.

I am just used to hot summers so if’s not the temperature I am used to - brain says it’s no summer. I noticed even “my” people prefer moderate temperatures, but not me. I love when it’s hot hot hot. I should move to Spain! Maybe I will

Great video Antonija! One thing I noticed while living here is the casual use of vocal fry and the inhaled talking in a conversation. Not really shocking, but surely noticeable 😅

Sadly you are wrong when it comes to stray animals. There are lots and lots of stray cats - only they tend to die for the cold during their first winter so you don´t see them around.

You sure haven´t traveled much... Some countries have such a big problem of stray animals that is hard to believe. Long time ago i saw video from some southern city that decided to get rid off all the stray dogs for being pain in the *ss. Lituraly tens of truck loads of a dead stray dogs were removed from tha one single city. Stray cats are also big problem in many countries like some places in Thailand. When you go some restaurant to eat there might be 3-5 stray cats under your table while you try to eat. In Japan there is three different islands full of stray cats. One of those is actually so famous that the tourist has started to visit there.

I am shocked to hear this. In my 7 years I really never seen one, and I have been driving round Finland a lot. In contrast, whenever I land in Zagreb (my OG city) I see at least 3 strays on my way to home from the airport 🤷‍♀️

Hopefully you don't realize that you are naked under your clothes, and so are all the others. Once you realize that you have to become a hermit living alone in a cave, to avoid being around people. But if you're also uncomfortable being just alone..

@@thesunman My comment was written two years ago and I don't remember that video and the discussion. But think about hermit crabs and the shells they wear to protect them. They are so serious staying covered and justifiably so. Humans have less reason and at least assumingly should have more understanding of when clothing is actually needed. But it seems that humans have developed obsessions about being covered. It can be thought as of having developed wrong self image, in which clothing has becoming an essential part of own body and naked body has become something unnatural.
