I was 20 when this came out and Croc 2 obviously even older...I loved them on my chipped and burnt discs so much in my collecting days 15 years after that, they were some of the first 2 ps1 games I got for my ps1 collection

Croc is getting a remake!!!

I love the 2 Croc games.

I'm not sure how-well the Croc remake will go... will many gamers now want to play a 3D game where the levels are just random rooms that were thrown-together? (Literally: if you download the alpha versions from The Cutting Room Floor or Hidden Place sites, you can see the evolution of many of the rooms). I hope in the remake they do restore some of those unused levels and ideas, as in the final game the was released, it is quite repetitive. So I'd hope some of the alpha stuff, such as a slide level, a level inside a whale, levels where you climb to the top while bolders are rolling down, and more-interesting underwater areas with giant fans in the walls and spiked ceilings, might get added, even if perhaps just as secret areas. The "remakes" of Gex and Tombi (Tomba outside Europe) that Modern Vintage Gamer mentioned recently will be interesting too, but unlike Croc those aren't actual remakes, but more emulation with HD textures being added.

Honestly, I think 3D platformers should just stay in the past.
