Yea my adults and babies burrow all the time. This is one of the main reasons why I suggest giving them earthworms from time to time.

Like your style - what kept me watching was in your intro you said "working with these animals" any one into animal husbandry in a serious way has this mentality - they aren't dogs lol they want nothing to do with us! How do we create a functional and pleasurable house to watch these guys be a Croc skink. Subbed thank you!

@@AllThingsLiving813 it would be cool to put some guppies in a paludarium with them so they can breed and then if it caught some you would still have a constant supply of fish.

Just came across your channel today. Actually a friend sent me your info. I have a question. I got a pair of baby Red Eyed Crocs. What's the lowest temperature they can go down to at night?
@AllThingsLiving813
@AllThingsLiving813 Жыл бұрын
I would say the lowest your animals temp should drop to at night is about 68 degrees. I keep mine at 70 to 73 degrees year round.

@@AllThingsLiving813 Wow didn't think you would reply. Awesome man thank you for answering my question. Makes me glad to know I'm doing a good job so far. Hello! I have got a problem with my gracilis. He don't eats since 2-3 weeks. I try every day, but not. In the terrarium is 22 Celsius, the humidity is 80%. He is active, but I'am fustrated. He is 1,5 years old. He goes dorment or what is the problem? Please help! Thank you!

I would always recommend switching up the food from time to time. Reptiles often can be picky eaters. Make sure you can monitor how much food is going in. Check your uva and uvb. And if you are sure the animal isn't eating then you need to go see a vet. It could be internal.

Have you ever kept 1.2 in the same enclosure?
@AllThingsLiving813
@AllThingsLiving813 Жыл бұрын
No not at all. Females have the tendency to fight when they come in contact with one another. I'm not saying its not possible I just don't do it. I do one male one female and let them build the family themselves.

How do you do your substrate and water barrier
@AllThingsLiving813
@AllThingsLiving813 Жыл бұрын
I have been using small pond rocks and mosquito screen to make the drainage layer. But going forward I will be using hydro balls. Using rocks makes the enclosure entirely too heavy lol.

@novajiji4462 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the reply so what are you telling me is I have to wrap the rocks
@AllThingsLiving813
@AllThingsLiving813 Жыл бұрын
No you will do a small layer of rocks or clay pebbles stacking them about two inches high. Then you cut your screen to lay on top of your rocks or clay pebbles creating a drainage layer. Preventing your soil from becoming acidic. This way you can keep the enclosure moist enough for the animals.

I just completed building my enclosure for my 2 white eye Crock skink build in 40 gal stable 75 temp 80 % humidity the female don't look like she is eating but dubia are disappearing I have it set up as bio activity so there is isopods that they can eat as well. Thank you for your info. What could be mixed with them that could be safe if I build a big enclosure.

Who did you get her from? Is she captive bred? I would suggest only putting five to ten mealworms in her bowl and giving it a few days. This way you can literally count how many are missing. Croc skinks don't eat a whole lot.
