This crochet baby cardigan pattern is offered in three different sizes: newborn, 0-3 months and 3-6 months. The pattern is the same for all three sizes, all you need to do is change the hook size.
The finished measurements for this baby cardigan are:
Newborn: chest - 16" (40.5cm); sleeves 5" (12.5cm); underarm to hem 5.5" (14cm)
0 - 3 months: chest - 18" (46cm); sleeves 5.5" (14cm); underarm to hem 6" (15cm)
3 - 6 months: chest - 20" (51cm); sleeves 6" (15cm); underarm to hem 6.5" (16.5cm)

In part one of the tutorial I'll show you how to crochet the yoke and the skirt section of the cardigan. Part two shows you how to make the sleeves and crochet the edging.
This is an easy crochet tutorial and I’ll show you what to do step by step. You'll need to be familiar with the following stitches:
ch(s) - chain(s)
dc - double crochet
dc2tog - double crochet two together
sc - single crochet
sl st - slip stitch
SpCL - special cluster (in depth tutorial given in video)
st(s) - stitch(es)

I finished this cardigan a few days ago, i keep looking at it because it is so pretty and the first cardigan project that didn't look worn and old from the stress of me creating it lol. Just finished this one and it turned out so nice! I used a yarn with color gradient, so it starts out lavenderish white on the neck and goes down to deep purple at the bottom. Thanks so much for the Tutorial, you're by far the best crocheting channel out there!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your video tutorials and written patterns, Amanda! We have a VERY large family (14 children) and lots and lots and lots of grandbabies. ;-) I just completed your Mary Jane booties tutorial and now I'm on to this cardigan for a grand daughter who is due in December. We have 21 grandchildren so far and we just found out that we have another grandbaby due in May, so I'll be very busy on your channel, lol. Your accent sounds Scottish (I used to live in Scotland when I was stationed there in the 1980's). I lived on Dunnet Head and my little cottage was the furthest northern dwelling (save for the lighthouse and the Orkney's). I really miss it there!!!

Hi Amanda, Oh I've been waiting for this since you said keep your your eyes open, your tutorials are the best by far, I only started to crochet the other week, and have tried a few tutorials and always end up wrong 🤣 but I'm always spot on with yours, I've only made little swatches and a beanie, but I'm really loving crocheting, I can't follow a pattern yet 🙈 but hopefully I'll get used to the abbreviations soon, Thankyou so much for taking time for the tutorials I also do the odd tutorials on sugar modelling and know how long it takes ❤😘 x

Your tutorials are so helpful. Thank you for the close-ups, going slowly, and explainin explicitly where the hook should be inserted. It would be helpful for beginners and almost-beginners if you would show how you make the last stitch in each row. (EDIT: I see in later rows you do show that; thanks!) I'm not really a beginner but if I have trouble with a pattern, it's usually at the end and beginning of rows or rounds. That said, you are so much easier to follow than many on YT. You have a gift for teaching crochet. I plan to make the matching booties and hat, and on those you show how to end the rounds as well as how to begin the next one. I know these are simple rows, but... LOL God bless!

I love your tutorials and have learned how to crochet by making this baby set. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. Any chance you could adapt this pattern to include toddler sizes?
