The Crochet Pretty Flowers Shawl has a very deep texture with a flower pattern created by fan shapes for upper and lower semi-circles. Once I understood the pattern, I repeated and is pretty easy and changed my mind from an intermediate level to an easy level.
The pattern starts with a scalloped edge. To keep the balance, the edging must be done in even numbers. Like 6, 8, 10 and more. The shawl itself has 18 scallops.
It's hard to see how deep the texture is in the real sample. Me, I was quite surprised by it.
The free pattern includes a crochet diagram to follow, which helps give visual cues on where the stitches go.

I just wanted to thank you for your instructions. I am so excited to have started to make things again. You make it so easy to follow you in the videos you make it a joy. I love the idea of the empty chair at Christmas and will be making it to honor my brother that pasted two years ago.

@@AnastasiaWyrmberg I’m so glad I saw your post because I got the monthly blanket from MM and the written pattern isn’t what is being instructed here (at least in the foundation row), but what he’s describing makes complete sense. I’m going to follow the video. This blanket is going to be amazing with the yarn they sent us!!

Whoa when did they they start making Colorama o’gos. I have got to find me some. We haven’t had o’gos in at least a year.

When doing your foundation part in the beginning, treble is looped twice, why do you loop 3 times on the last treble and not 2

If you'll look/watch closely, he only actually gathers two loops on his hook, not three. Sometimes when you're doing that movement the yarn slips off and doesn't actually stay on the hook so you learn to just automatically loop your hook again to get the correct number of loops of yarn on your hook. So what you're seeing are the motions of 3 loopings but only 2 actual loops being gathered. What's important is the number of loops of yarn you actually have on the hook, not the number of times you end up having to twirl your hand/hook to get there.
