I recently found a bunch of scrap yarn. I tied them together and caked it all up. I ended up with 18 oz of yarn. Now I am making a granny square blanket for my grand children's bed when the come to visit. It is beautifully bright. I love it and I feel like I am saving yarn from the trash!!! Those really little bals are the ones I call scrap, the bigger ones I use for Lovies LOL!

I have scrap balls that I use to make blankets. Hold 2 strands together and use half double crochet. Makes a nice thick and warm blanket.

Those scraps would make great blankets for the Beg Brigade. Cake them all together with long tailed knots to weave in. Take either 2 scrap balls together or one scrap, one full ball single colour and work your 2 strands together for a nice doggy blanket

I am making dog and cat mats for donations I hold three strains together. It perfect for that kind of yarn . And I also make scrapple blankets bags donate to the shelters .

Hi Dear Friend, I was soooo tired of my scrap balls tails wanting to unwind & etc. I looked on U Tube for suggestions of how to keep that from happening ‼️I found someone who used different size rubber bands to put around the ball & WOW IT WORKS SUPER❣️I bought a bag of different size Rubber Bands from Amazon & believe it or not it really keeps them from trying to unwind😁😁Just wanted to share this idea I found, tried, & IT WORKS GREAT❣️Loves Ya’, barbie😘🙏🏼

I love Caron One Pound, and the Lionbrand Pound of Love yarns. I have made a lot of blankets fron them. I like partial skeins for adding into smaller projects or scrap blankets. My Sophie's Universe blanket has got a bunch of partial skeins and small balls of yarn mixed into it. Wait intil i get it done and you see it. It is actually suprising me. I didn't know that Big twist made variegated skeins yarn. Wow, i love the colors.

My little balls are in a box with their bands. I hope to eventually have enough for a scrap blanket out of CSS yarn. I'd probably mix in L&T soft and shiny since they are pretty much the same. I'm impressed that you know some of the yarn w/o bands! Thanks for sharing!😊

I would buy clear plastic shower curtains to hang over my yarn. That way I could still see it lol. Its so pretty to look at, right

I'm crocheting chair pads using chunky yarn and I love it never used it before and it's turning out great love it. Going to use it more often.

You do so good on storing your scrap yarn. Lol, I just throw the balls of leftovers in a bag or box. I don't take the time to put it in nice plastic bags.

I noticed I do that too. I seem to 'forget' about yarn that ive hand balled up out of a hank. I put them in the same bag as my scraps. I think I will stop hand balling yarn up like that and keep it in the hanks, as hanks are at the front of my mind when thinking about what to make next. I literally just remembered I have some gorgeous hand dyed yarn ive hand balled up and completely forgot about. Really need to dig them out and make something as theyre too pretty to leave alone. Just have to finish my current 4 wips first! Sarah in England.
