hello, I don't use anything to stiffen this earring but I tried using diy stiffener before. 2tbsp corn starch and like 1-2 cups water, I forgot. then I boil it to thicken. and spray it on the earrings. It's better if you can use a already made fabric stiffener :))

Hello, I noticed that you didn't recommend a stiffener for these earrings. Mine tend to curve or cup where the picot is. What is your opinion on this?

I suggest using fabric stiffener :) I don't recommend it in the video because I don't have it but I tried diy before :)

When I got married, my mother stiffened the cotton crinolines for under the gown with corn starch and water. I don’t honestly know how she did it (I was away when she stiffened them), but it certainly worked like a charm. I also remember my Auntie using a spray starch (poor Uncle JJ) on everything, including his boxers! Again, I couldn’t tell you the brand - this was almost forty years ago - but I hope one of those suggestions helps.

I have made some with size 10 knit crochine thread and Aunt Lydias thread hook size u are used to working with size 10 threads . 11 or 12 I have used

What is the US size equivalent hook you are using that you say is an 8? I'm a beginner and find the hook sizes confusing! Love these earrings! Thanks for the video.

No. 8 steel hook or 1.5 mm ☺️ you must look for the small crochet hooks. on my list of size it indicates that the US size is no. 8 and the metric (mm) is 1.5

U forget in this video and other videos to mention the first step which is chain 4 or in other videos single crochet in the slipbstitch 12 times. Makes it harder for us to follow along.
