Here im using the slip stich and chain 1 method to create the clean strip look on th bee. Its a very easy tutorial, the only complicated part is the colour change, but once you learn that, everything is smooth sailing.

Amazing tutorial! I am relatively new to crochet and have made two now…. My only tip for newbie crocheters trying this is to stop at row 11 and skip to making and sewing on the wings, when I made my first bee the sewing left a mess as I am new and unfamiliar with the technique. If you sew the wings on while the bee is still “open” you can hide any messy stitches or knots on the inside! Once your wings are sewn on, return back to decreasing and closing off your bee! Found this really helped me the second time around 😊❤

thank you so much for this! i did my first amigurumi ever with this! i used a 4 mm hook and weight six/super bulky yarn and it wasn't the same size, but it was still small!

Do you slip stitch back into the slip stitch? I don’t understand the slip-stitches and how not to create more stitches doing that

You slip stitch into your first stitch. Then chain 1 and do a single crochet in the SAME first stitch. Repeat. Skip the Slip Stitch "stitch"
