The way I deal with size printed hooks is to put a bit of clear fingernail polish over the size and let it dry really well. It seems to work as a year or so later and the size is still nice and readable.

I am talking to a counselor and it seems my depression and anxiety is messing with my memory and the ability to handle things. I will be seeing a psychiatrist soon as well. I love all your videos, they brighten my day watching you. I love your enthusiasm for the craft. Crocheting not just relaxes me but brings me great joy. Those hooks do look great and I think I will have to get some and try them. Thank you for a great review.

A lot of these fancier hooks are made specifically for knifehold crocheters. Perfect for placing your thumb in a certain spot etc. If you are a pencil hold crocheter which I have been for 50 plus years, it's a little scary to spend the money on something that probably is not going to work. Beautiful hooks tho

Just ordered my set! I LOVED my Amour hooks, thought they were the best I'd ever used in the 43 yrs I've been crocheting, but my hands started to tire quickly about 3 yrs ago. Switched to Furls hooks, but have missed the hook head and style of the Amours this whole time! 😢 AS SOON as I saw a close up of BC's hooks I was like YES!!!! They look like Amour's!! So after you're review I used the link, jumped on over and snagged a set! CAN'T WAIT for them to get here!!!! 🙂

Maybe you can- it looks like there are a lot of different indentations on the handles for different grips. My favorite hooks have one particular place where my thumb has made its own indentation from my pencil grip 😂- so maybe that was considered? I hope! Because I want these!

I bought these for myself for Christmas. They’re so beautiful! They are a challenge to get used to for me because of how I hold my hook and the width of the hook. But they’re so pretty I’m still trying!

Thank you for the review and thank you for sharing your experience with mental health. I don't know why we don't take care of our minds like we take care of our bodies. We need to stop putting a stigma on needing help with mental issues. Stress, depression, and other issue happen to many and we all need a little help now and then. These last few years have been hard, the pandemic has taken its toll on everyone. So please if you feel that you are stuck and can't get out of the mood you are in reach out to someone. If someone reaches out to you listen try to make them realize that this is all temporary and encourage them to seek help.

I have been eyeballing these, but have not made the move to purchase because I wasn't sure about the hook head. I use inline hooks. That is what I learned on and it is all I know. Now, up until yesterday when a new pattern I was working on called for a 3.25mm hook and the only 3.25mm hook I had in all of my many hooks was a hand me down from my mother-in-law and it was a tapered hook. I didn't make gauge with it anyway, so I had to go up a hook size to 3.50mm and that was an inline hook. But, all of that to say, I did just fine with the tapered hook. When I saw you had reviewed these also, I was like, okay, let's go see what Toni says about it, cause girl, I trust your opinion and so far, you are the only one I have seen review them. So thank you!!!!! Oh and as for a video suggestion, how to teach children to crochet starting from proper hook holding. My son wants to learn so badly and I just can't seem to get him to hold the hook in a way that will allow him to comfortably even start chaining much less start crocheting stitches.

You convinced me. I've looked at these hooks before but the expense threw me off once converted to U.S. dollars plus shipping. There is a sale right now which includes the tote and I bit the bullet on it. Someone mentioned these are geared toward the knife hold crocheters. I was always a pencil hold until I had hand surgery. Now I use the knife hold so these should work fine for me. Thanks for the review.

Hello Toni nice to meet you! Thank you for sharing your story, I have experienced a few of those nasty symptoms of anxiety Depression etc. thank you for sharing better health ! I’m definitely going to look into it. I love these hooks especially the color. Gorgeous! I like the name as well , very cool! I have not seen these beautiful crochet hooks ! Ok Toni...I'm a big fan and i was actually looking at another crochet hook to use that may have a shorter staff and BAM...your review pops up. Now...I have carpal tunnel so I HAVE to use ergonomic crochet hooks. My issue is that I am traditionally a pencil grip crocheter for over 30 years...but in the last 2 years, adapted to knife hold so that my fingers and wrists don't tire. So you can say I'm proficient in both now. I decided to order these hooks based off of you review and the shape. It looks likes with the indent toward the top of the handle, there are some indents befitting a pencil grip holder. My Tulip hooks are my go to right now since I can comfortably use them both styles. So we'll see how these do when they get here ..Thanks again for sharing!!!

I actually discovered TLYarn from watching BC. I've rediscovered crochet after a long while. I never stuck with it when I was younger but have learned that it is enjoyable to do in the evenings and I've learned that I need to have several wips going as I get bored working on the same thing and that could be why I gave it up before. Its very hard for me to not want to buy a bunch of yarn! Its addicting 😁

I ordered a set of these hooks after I saw this video about 6 months ago. Due to an injury to my fingers, which has caused some arthritis in those fingers after healing, my favorite hooks are no longer as comfortable as they used to be. I found the Athena hooks to be very comfortable and for me did ease my hand fatigue. The knuckle of one finger still causes me some discomfort but that is due to the old injury. I can crochet longer before it acts up. This is what I was looking for. My only complaint is that there is a thin coating over the handle that is starting to peel at the thumb rest. For me this is a minor flaw and something I can easily deal with. Today I ordered another set as I like to have a backup set. I like them that much. I was pleasantly surprised to find them on sale so I was able to get them for about $21 USD plus the $8 shipping.

i love your videos some much toni, (and im not trying to come off rude at all!) but id really advise against working with betterhelp again. they have been known to collect and sell off user’s data, which in their case is about really sensitive stuff! i understand that that is unfortunately how many companies have to make some money, but the fact is that they are already charging you for therapy related issues (and are appealing to vulnerable groups like poc and lgbtq+), only to make more money off of you for selling information you gave them. there’s many other people who’ve put the issues with betterhelp together more succinctly than i have, but they really are not a good company!!

OT I know, but I wonder if you have done any double ended Tunisian. Your channel was what got me interested in Tunisian--thought it would be a secondary thing but find that's my main interest now. Perhaps its because I'm an ex pro weaver and Tunisian has a similar appearance in many cases and stitches. Then--somewhere picked up about double ended, tried with a short cable and 2 similar sized hooks and ended up ordering another set of interchangeable hooks/cables to have it more correct. (And did get some inexpensive bamboo double ended hooks which are fine for smaller pieces and swatches). May be a more niche thing and not enough interest--so keep doing what you do with reviews and pattern videos.

These hooks and case are beautiful. I love Sarah-Jayne. She works hard to bring crochet to everyone. I have Athena hooks in pink sizes 3 through 5.5 from the Essentials box. I was so excited to get them. Be aware that the bottom ends of the hooks have sharp edges that dug into the outer area of my palm. They’re just long enough to dig into my hand there. I ended up using a nail file to smooth out the tips but I’m still not happy with them. There’s an inner core of hard plastic in the handle at the tip. If they were longer or not so pointy and dipped in the same soft plastic on the ends it would probably be okay. I too wish they would have taken the time to smooth out the metal under the hooks. If those two issues were corrected she would have a winner. I want to use them but can’t because of the constant irritation, but also can’t bring myself to throw them away either.

@@char8059 I think what I’ll do is glue some knitting needle stoppers onto the pointy ends. That way they won’t dig into my palm. I hope you have better luck with yours when you receive them.

I’ve been using this set for about 2 months. I like how my hands don’t get fatigued nearly as quickly (or often), however there a coating on the handle that rubs off over time so I may have to retire them after less than 6 months😢

Great review, I am a little hesitant on the length but seems everyone love them and they seem to fit your hand nicely and I have large hands as well. Addi crochet hook is my favorite of all time and they are very ergonomic and I never have any hand fatigue but I think I will give these a try as my travel hooks, having all the sizes in the case is a big plus. I use my favorite super slippy (it's actually from the dollar tree and measures a titch larger but I'm fine with that) 4.5 mm hook for that K+C Element yarn. Ooh the drape! Even with the smaller hook. I love it! 😊

One thing I always wonder about with these bulkier ergonomic hooks is how comfortable they are with a pencil grip-a lot of them seem like they’d be difficult to hold that way. These ones actually look like they’d be good …But they don’t seem to be available anymore so I guess I’m not finding out.
