- weight 4 acrylic yarn
- 4.5mm crochet hook
- scissors
- stitch marker if you need

Thank you for the tutorial. I made it but it was too big. I used 4.5mm hook. Not sure about the yarn because I used double thin yarn to make it a bit thick for the hook but it came out too big. How can I adjust it? Please help.

Try it with 1 thin yarn, which is a 4 ply and 3mm hook.

@iseremercy2335 oh, sorry to hear it didn’t come out as planned🙁 maybe try using a larger hook size or use acrylic yarn because it’s stretched better than cotton yarn

Hi. Beginner here ✋, To achieve this type of hat, must you use a certain size of wool? I followed the tutorial to the T but mine came out a smaller, although the size of my wool is smaller, could it be the reason ? How do I rectify the issue pls ?

Your stitches were probably tighter, try loosen your hand a bit, if that doesn’t work then maybe you could use a bigger hook and yarn

I used a smaller hook and yarn weight, i used hook 3.5 and acrylic yarn, i added 2 or 3 extra rows to the top part to make it larger. It fits perfectly now.

I used this tutorial and your instructions are very easy to follow but my hat was. Very small I had to destroy it again and start over from row 8😢. I am using a 2.5mm hook. Please let me know what i should do to increase the hat from row 8

You just have to continue the increase sequence until you get the desired size you want, increase in the 8th stitch, then the 9th stitch…and so on

Med- large, if you wanna make a smaller size, reduce one row from the top of the hat. Hope this helps!

Thankyou so muchhh. I improvised by increasing for 3 more rows and DC'ing 3 more rows as well as it was looking way too small. After doing this it fit perfectly
