Hello friends
This week, I am showing you this great little "go to" crochet square. I say little, but honestly this one can go as big a you want it to be. Just keep adding rows, repeating the the 2tr, 1dtr, 2tr into each corner dtr from the previous round. Best part.. there are NO gaps or holes in this one.. so perfect for projects that need to be more firm and solid.

This is great. Recently a child my grandson attended school with passed away,(she was 12 years old), one of the teachers sent out a request for small squares that will be handed out to the students as prayer squares. The teacher made tags to go on each one. This is perfect with no holes, I will however only be doing 2 or 3 rounds, as they want them to be small to fit in pockets........off I go to make as many as I possibly can..Thank you again,

Thankyou for having the only video I found that explains how to do a solid no gap granny square that I could understand. I'm American and I think you have a pleasant voice. I just had to write down the pattern as you were talking and then just converted it to US terms. I would love to see what projects you did with this and how you would join the squares.

loved this! I like the square but hate the holes! LOL Also THANK YOU for ur nails & fingers being clean & tidy! I don't like watching nasty nails & yucky hands on some of the videos. Yours was GREAT!!

Thanks Faith. My Mum must have dragged me up properly lol, I can't stand mucky fingernails. Not saying I don't ever have them, but I always make sure I've scrubbed my hands before I film. I'll actually let you into a secret.. on my right hand, the thumb nail is half missing, due to a car door incident a few months before I filmed this. I nearly didn't film anything for the longest time as I was so scared I would put people off.!! But I guess I did a good job of fixing it up. Thank you for your lovely comment and for watching :)

This is the solid square stitch I have been looking for! I made 2 quite large squares, continues the second one by doing another round in the front loop only then continued up for another 5 inches. Folded the edges over down to the round in the front loops. Pit a nice thick layer of quilt batting on the bottom and stitched the other square in place. Then stitched the folded edge to the row of loops still visible from the front loop only row, putting some stuffing in as I stitched. Voila! A cozy padded Dog bed!! Love this! It was fun to make, used scraps (about 600Gms) from other projects. Thank you for tis tutorial.

Oh wow, this is a great idea for pot holders that I needed to make really quickly. They grow so fast and you're done in no time and are indeed solid, which is a necessity in pot holders. thanks!

Try to slip stitch to the corner in the first row and move up each row after in the corner for a less noticeable adjustment.

Thanks for this, came on looking for a pattern with no holes for a couch rug - plan is to use colour rather than fancy stitches and your square is perfect and you made it so easy as I can crochet but cannot read crochet patterns just knitting ones so you showing how its done made it really easy and first square finished by time you finished video as once I did first corner could see how it would be. You are a great teacher - some videos they show you but work too fast for you really to follow.

I love this pattern I loved doing Granny squares but I got lots of Nice's. And nephews who can't have holes in the blanket also this would make a great sweater pattern

Thank you for this simple and quick video! It took me a minute to "translate" (😆) because I'm in the U.S. so we call them double crochet stitches and triple crochet stitches (for the corners). Once my brain knew I had to translate that word each time, it was very simple. I don't care much for the magic circle, probably because Ive spent 45 years making a small circle with 5-6 chains. This is a great pattern to use as a base for other projects. Thank you dear and God bless!

I live in the US and after translating your terminology where a UK Treble equals a US Double Crochet and a UK Double Treble equals a US Triple Crochet or a US Treble, I found myself better able to follow your pattern. Took a little doing, but now I've got it down. I only wish you had gone just one more round to better understand the beginning of the third round. I ended up going back to the beginning of the second round to help it make more sense. I thank you for your tutorial. It's great. :) P.S I reviewed your tutorial once more and it hit me that you actually stated in the end that after slip stitching to begin the third round, we are to UK Double Treble or US Double Crochet in each next stitch until we meet the first corner where we then follow your directions for completing a corner. I get it now. Yay!! So fun!!

Thank you for this tutorial, I make items for preemies and the blankets can't be "holey" in case their little fingers and toes get caught in them. I can crochet quicker than knit, so this will be a godsend for me x

You cd just use variegated/two tone wool or change colours as required. There are heaps of lovely variegated wools out there. Good luck.
