13:15 for Crooked I's part.
Suge Knight, the controversial CEO of Tha Row Records (Formally Death Row), is set to be in the first release of the R&B/hip-hop lifestyle DVD journal Yellow Tape Magazine, according to Billboard. The magazine will feature an exclusive interview with him which is due out on January 28th 2003 through "Yellow Tape Film & Video Productions/Music Video Distributors," The first edition of the quarterly video magazine will be available for $16.95.
The Yellow Tape CEO Romel Mason issued a statement saying : "With Suge, we felt that he was so often misrepresented in the media and that there must be a flip side, after all, he's a successful business man, a father, does a lot of other stuff -- charity work, etc. -- that rarely gets focused on, and the truth is that he probably wouldn't have gotten as far as he had, if he was just what the media portrayed him to be... Love him, like him, or hate him, everyone wants to hear what he has to say."

Gotta respect this mans hustle, grind and the impact he made within Hip Hop culture. This interview really showed me his business savvy and how smart he really is. Before even watching this I just though he was a crazy reckless bully. That's what the media painted him out to be. But You always find out there's to sides to every coin. Not that he's perfect. But you can't deny the many opportunities he provided for artist to get heard.

You don't think he may be painting himself a certain way in this interview? You are correct that there is 2 sides to a coin, but there is 3 sides to this story. The media's side, Suge's side, and then there is the truth.

I honestly don’t understand why so many people(who personally don’t even know him) hate Suge. I get that he’s done many bad things thruout his life/career. But none of it affects any of the fans, only affects the person he’s directly doing the shit to! Yeah he did hang Vanilla Ice off of a balcony, forced Eazy-E to sign away Dre’s music rights, ran over and killed a guy with his truck,?and has done a lot of crazy/bad shit over the years. But then again, so has 95% of rappers nowadays! Gunplay pisol whipped his manager and nobody hates him for it. Suge has done ALOT for hip hop and he deserves respect for it, regardless of some of his actions. I honestly just think everybody’s dislikes Suge, becuz they think he’s the reason Pac got killed, but we all know by now that it was obviously not Suge. Dude lost over $100 million, is broke, & is prison for the rest of his life. Give him his props for everything good he’s done for hip hop, and then leave him be.

I like Suge, but he's had so much time and space to get Death Row back on track from 2002 (when he was released) until now, alas he failed. It seems to me like the the streets and thuggery got a little too much in the way. And DON'T tell me times have changed - back then there was still a lot of space for gangsta rap, unlike now. He could have made it happen. A damn shame.

For those who don't know and there seems to be a lot of you. The main reason deathrow collapsed is because suge knight was so envious of dre, he convinced himself he could do what dre did, have an eye for talent and make great music. He convinced himself all dre did was get musicians and producers together to make songs. Suge knight ultimately showed himself to be a buffoon by signing artists to prove himself, breaching the agreement he had with dre. There is no artist he signed to deathrow that made it apart from 2pac ;no innovation there . THIS is the real reason deathrow fell

Yes but he didnt make Pac. Pac and Dre had also a very good successful harmonic but Pac did most without Dre so did he continue blewing when Dre left. Pac mainly stood out the whole G Funk sound. You can also say that Warren G did it without his half brother Dre with Regulator and Nate. But they also released via Interscope who finally had the better mastering engineers.

@@bobfield6493 Thats total BS. Even if the sound qual wasnt the same it had other qualities to go. Dre states his name like he also claims 100% of Scott Storchs Prod for a lot of his main hits. Why did he need them? A main influence in Dres and later Death Row beginning was Daz and also the unknown DJ who in fact did pioneer 808 work when it was over a decade before south. Jimmy Iovine loved Dres production and for the rest they give it to the best Universal studios to do the master. Its exactly what Suge says they own everything and have the best engineers too. Unversal did master on pop level when Death Row was doing it with most hood producers. Thats exactly my point and also what Suge says. Thats why also Warren G made sound already and presented Snoop when Dre didnt want none of it and dodged them so its mainly not Dres influence. Warren G was on G Funk like Daz and Doggpound Dre wasnt even making that sound so wasnt Pac a G Funk rapper.
