My DIY version that started as a 1377, now with steel breech 14.5" barrel 1399 stock with pin and spring custom cheek riser and pad some cheap $30 scope three part adjustable sear spring and super small compass covering one of the stock screw holes has been great with every pellet. I've shot a penny at 23 yards breaking it into four pieces. It's now being turned into a PCP replacing the pump tube with an air storage tube and I'm loving the multi shot between refills. I'll be doing the same to my diy 24" .177 version.

@johnconnor6725 That sounds like an awesome build! You gave me an idea. Would you be interested in sharing pictures of it and other cool builds you might have? I’m considering some kind of viewers showcase episode. What do you think?

Yeah I could share some pictures And I've got a couple of custom builds. One I'd like to try is a double pump tube version to a single barrel but I still haven't decided on sharing the valves or having them just pumping to a single one.

Thanks for the thorough review! When buying your custom bolts, flat top valve/pistons etc. Would you share where you source these parts from? TIA!

I’d love to, but my machinist asked me not to. He says he’s too busy as it is. I’m considering having him produce extra components and then I’d be able to make them available.

Why don’t they make a 177 version?
@AlsAirguns
@AlsAirguns 4 ай бұрын
&dudespin, due to low sales. It originally was in .177 as the Backpacker. .22 is simply more popular. You can have one made through the Crosman Custom Shop if you have the budget.

I tend to disagree with you and that is the reason that I haven't bought one. I like the 1322...I like the shoulder stock...I like the carrying bag...BUT...I don't think the value is there. Crosman has this overpriced, in my opinion. And, this is just a gun to spend MORE money on to make it do what Crosman should have made it.
@AlsAirguns
@AlsAirguns 5 ай бұрын
@jmmwarren6685, I can appreciate that. Part of the cost over the 1322 is 1) A14 and 1/2 inch barrel with a new Fiber optic Front sight over the 1322’s 10 inch barrel and front sight that’s a plastic numb on the barrel band. Additionally you’re getting the shoulder stock that’s normally $25.00 extra. N the past the 2289 had an improved pump handle (wish those would return.) instead of that they seem to offer the upgraded carbon fiber finish which used to be custom shop only. What gun do you feel represents a better value a function. Umarex? Gamo, Diana?

@@AlsAirguns So I just bought this because of the flexibility to throw it in my backpack. The base Crosman 1322 is $61 on Amazon at the moment. A solid Maverick Mossberg 88 shotgun is $240. A solid Savage Arms Stevens 334 rifle is $360. I bought my Crossman Drifter for $140, a steel breach upgrade for $45, and paid Pyramid Air $35 to install it as I'm not mechanically inclined. That's $220 for a solid all-purpose pump air gun - which is just $20 less than an actual shotgun and $140 less than an actual rifle. So I can understand that value is not there sometimes. But as is commonly said, "you have to pay to play", and we all choose our toys based on our own little situations. (This was the research and thought-process I just went through, and ended up with the Crosman Drifter for my particular use-case scenario).

@@nate6000 I think you made a solid choice. The comparison between airguns and firearms is commonly made particularly regarding cost. Firearms and airguns are different economic propositions. In firearms ammunition is a huge ongoing expense whereas airguns are far more economical to feed and care for over its lifetime. What’s the cost of 3090 pellets versus 3000 rounds of 12 gauge for your Maverick. Or 3000 rounds of 308 or 30-30? Air that you compress yourself is cheap.

What was the source of the air leak?
@AlsAirguns
@AlsAirguns 6 ай бұрын
The valves exhaust port had shifted slightly off center in the opening to the transfer port. I needed to reposition slightly to get it centered.
