Cross Country 2019, 320km Kimmirut Race

This video is of me racing with others on Kimmirut Race, which is a 320 kilometer race from Iqaluit, to Kimmirut and back to Iqaluit Nunavut! We race over frozen sea ice, Mountain of Mount Joy, and the River of Sopel, and this Years race consisted of 22 racers from all parts! Sleds, I"m racing were either Bombardier, or Arctic Cat, from 600s, to 850s! My sled is a 2003, SKS 700 and the rest were either 2017s, 2019s and I was averaging 100mph to 105, and on flat long stretches, I went up to 110mph! Rush is just a partner!

Awesome footage, a few hidden rocks around those parts lol, I live in southern ontario, we get some riding here, but season is short, a lot of open fields here with some bush, and lots of road crossings

Straight savage! I live in northern maine and have gone wide open across lakes and it’s very similar to playing Russian roulette! One bad ice jam and your ending up in a wheelchair the rest of your life. My father who’s been riding skidoos for 40+ years just broke his femur bone two winters ago going across Cold Stream Pond in central ME! I do love this guys riding style though. All or Nothing, there’s no trophy for second place!

Snow is hard packed up here and those ridges are not very forgiving. Many of the racers don't finish due to break downs and in some cases crashes. I heard of a prize as large as 22,000 but most of the guys who make this run do it for the bragging rights. I do believe this race was completed once in 2 hours 40 minutes .

Proves the point that a good stable chassis even if its dated can still get it done. Obviously alot of knowledge of the area and willing to run her wfo
