Tap early, tap often. In competitions you should be finishing the submission. Finish the armbar until your competitor taps and the ref stops the match. If he doesn’t tap fast enough, he can deal with the broken arm.

In a fight yes. In a tournament maybe. Rolling with my friends who have to work tomorrow, hell no. This WILL lead to injuries almost guaranteed.
@vwgolf19919 ай бұрын
I've been using it in training and so far no injuries, but you can't punch the hand through too fast, and don't do it like Craig did in Quintet and apply while conceding the sweep. That makes it so, so much worse. Take the toes, fall to your butt, then bring the other arm under your leg and through, and apply slowly.
@Kingx909 ай бұрын
@@vwgolf1991If you do it slow and mindful without causing injuries sure. But I’m not doing it like Craig does in the video.
@Longarmshortarm6 ай бұрын
Pause the video once he’s punched his arm through. If your ankles are so weak they can’t bend that far without injury, you should be in moon boots just to walk around daily - forget jiu jitsu
@vwgolf19916 ай бұрын
@@Longarmshortarm I kind of agree. Even if you pause at 0:23 when he's actually doing the move fully, he's being super gentle with it. What I've found is that the power of the break isn't primarily from the arms, but from the left (in this case) leg. Make the lock, then allow the hamstring to slide down to sit on top of your grip, then extend the leg, so it's all quad power driving into the ankle.

Meanwhile he also uses his left foot off of your right hip side/ribs as you are "Punching your elbow deep" as you were saying?... Pay no attention to my comment really. I admittedly know nothing about the art sir. This comment was directed to your first demonstration clip.
