Amazing! maybe only some dendritic cells do cross presentation due to the higher chance of lysis. So it’s like a captain of a ship performing a highly dangerous maneuver. then after successful completion of maneuver(presenting antigen on MHC I), the dendritic cell “earns it’s stripes” and gets the license to present, like you mentioned in the video. Such a cool video. Thank you.

At 6:58 you said CD8+ helper T cells , CD8+ cells aren't helper T cells they are cytotoxic T cells , in the slide you showed correct but pronounced it incorrectly.

I have a doubt, u said due to some actions there is breakdown of antigen that causes MHC 1 receptor to come out and cause cross presentation, but at last u said it is the IL-2 cells that cause the dendritic cell to start cross presentation. Which one is correctcorrect?

Why not dendritic cells could directly load processed viral antigens to class I mhc for cd8 activation .Why follow this complex class II and then to present to classI? Kindly explain
@emmali86382 жыл бұрын
I think it's because cd8 can only bind to MHC I and not MHC II
@ExternusArmy2 жыл бұрын
Two reasons: Peripheral tissue is generally exposed to viral antigens but cannot activate naïve T-cells found in lymph nodes because infected tissue is generally stuck in place without access to the draining lymph node. Since pathogens infect the body most commonly through permeable tissue which is often immobile (for example, epithelial cells in the lungs), the infected tissue can't present the viral antigen to naïve T cells that are in the lymph nodes. The second reason is that infected dendritic cells are often unable to present MHC-1 peptides due to viral immunoevasin activity which is preventing migration and MHC-1 presentation. The solution our immune system came up with is cross-presentation which is an exception to the general rule where MHC-1 ONLY detects cytoplasmic antigens. A cross-presenting dendritic cell will then phagocytose extracellular parts of dying/infected cells which contain the viral antigen and then pass this onto the MHC-1 presentation pathway and thus activate CD8 T-cells. Hope this helps, and feel free to correct anything.

I wonder if cross presentation is used to present cancer protein to the naive cd8 T cell waiting in the lymph nodes. A cancerous cell shows cancerous protein on mhc1. Somehow it needs to be presented to a naive cd8 T cell for the first time so that it can clone itself and come to the rescue.

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l92dlqp4r6myfmQ.html Here I think you mistakenly said "CD8+ T helper cells." Am I right? Because there is only CD4+ cells that are helper T cells. Great video BTW. Thanks
