Here in this video I show you how i use multiple colours at one given time and the process i use to help keep track of which colour is which.
Please let me know in the comments section if you do something similiar and let me know if there are any other tips you would like me to cover

Thank you for sharing how you wrote the symbol or the number on the little pieces of paper to indicate the shade designation. I watched several videos and yours was the first one to mark the name/number and attach it to each parked thread. Before your video, I couldn't understand how to tell all those colors apart from each other. Your video was very helpful!

This is brilliant! Thank you so much! I’m constantly losing track of what the color is for something I’ve parked, as I try to deal with frustrating confetti on complex designs. I will definitely be using this on my future projects. This tip is making me feel much more confident about being able to put a project down for a few days and not lose complete track of which color thread is which.

Thank you for sharing this simple method. I've wanted to try more complex cross stitch patterns for a while but the parking method most people use, where they put the thread through the next hole that colour needs to be stitched in, scarescthe life out of me. They seem to end up with ten strands of different colours, dangling down out of the same area, and I just know I'd end up with them all tangled! This method seems less confusing to me. I'm going to give it a try 👍

Thank you for your comment. I think this method would suit all levels of cross stitching which is why I wanted to share it and its something I have done from the beginning and never felt the need to change the process. Hopefully it helps you with your projects however big or small :)

Simple but brilliant idea. Was wondering how to best manage the colors! Need to boost your mic. A little quiet compared to the music. Also be careful with showing designs in terms of copyright. Nice job!

I hate needle minders so option 1 will suit me perfectly and stop my threads getting tangled. Thanks for sharing.

So I've not heard of this method before, so I'm not sure why you use it. Mostly to be able to identify thread colors? Does this save thread or use more than not using this technique? And I'm wondering how the back looks if you're dragging threads from spot to spot? Sorry for all the questions, thanks for sharing!

If you're parking and using a kit, will you have enough floss to complete the project?
@CraftivatingCreations
@CraftivatingCreations 4 жыл бұрын
Vera Hunt It depends on whether you have been given enough thread in the kit. I don’t believe parking your threads reduces the available thread left. With bothy threads if you run out of threads then they send you some out in the post for free :)

I’ve been cross stitching for 30 years and never heard of this. I’ve done incredibly complex projects and have never had a problem just marking out wha I’ve stitched. I think having these threads all over ... and little papers would drive me nuts ,but I guess it must work

There are so many methods to choose from and its just about what works for you. :) I no longer use this method as I filmed this a while ago but it's how I managed my threads for 15+ years as I didnt know any other way and it worked well for me.

I'm just still confused on how this works. Lets say that we need to go back to the "C" colour. but the next stitch is far away from where you stopped. What do you do to prevent big lines of thread across the back of your material?

Christina Roffey I do cover this in another top tip video so I would check that out but in a quick answer I would run the thread through the existing threads in the back to keep it neat or if it’s quite far away I would end the thread and start again with the same thread if there was still enough thread to use :)
