The quality of this video is amazing, good work! The small graphics are fun and helpful. Great quality video. Turns out, this is EXACLY the problem I have. Cheap cables, unfortunately

Thank you for this. I was having a hard time understanding what Crosstalk was, and how it happens. Now I understand!

Your video was extremely straight and didatic. Thank you.

Didactic doesn't mean what you think it does.

Thank you. I have a new PC and I'm hearing crosstalk during my video recordings. You can hear light popping throughout the entire recording. I've also heard this same popping during a live stream. Very frustrating. Can use shielded cables for my PC to end this annoying disruption?

Did you ground the shield or just use shielded cable?

UTP is tightly coiled and still working before your experiment

My apartment is using non-shielded cat5e cable. There are 4 ports around my apartment, and all of the cables meet up in a panel where my router is. Would you suggest replacing these cables with a cat6 shielded cables?

No need unless you are experiencing issues.

Is this cross-talk caused by capacitive cross-talk or inductive cross-talk or both? May both?

so why do they manufacture unshielded twisted pair cables?

Woei Shyong Kek cheap

Because unshielded twisted cables are less expensive.

This is clearly staged, I have couple of unshielded cables tapped together for management purposes but never had issue with them like this

we worked on old cctv systems...where is more unshielded cable 4-5 cable, on camera image appear ghosting effect. (analog system)

I'm calling bullshit! Yes crosstalk is a very real problem that occurs but this is absolutely bonkers if you think it is this dramatic of an effect. It's far more subtle. Ask any idiot stuck with the task of troubleshooting layer 0 through conduit buried underground.

I agree. I strongly smell the scent of bullshit. Marketing scumbags... I'm actually interested in shielding, but 99% of the stuff is complete bullshit. Wouldn't it be nice to see a REAL demo with actual numbers and waveforms?
@richclarkeshow8 жыл бұрын
I really think that this was staged. That someone was cutting off the signals to the TVs... shielded cables are nice though.

Can you believe this was a live demonstration!? Thanks for watching and for your feedback! :)

I am sorry, this is clearly staged as day and night. UTP cabling (basic network cable) is used to transmit data (same 1s ans 0s in an hdmi calbe) over much longer distances and it has no problem with it. Look at this! farm3.static.flickr.com/2189/2215694485_ec3583babd_o.jpg

@@kramerelectronics So crosstalk is a problem when you hold the cable near itself, but NOT a problem when it's all bundled up in that big spool?
@hassankhan28089 жыл бұрын
nice demonstration it helped a lot ,but the way you were talking was robotic.

We're glad you found the demonstration helpful! (PS - We agree that Matt shouldn't quit his day job at Kramer to become a TV Personality, but we think he did a pretty good job!)
