A residential development in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo), consisting of 135 units standing above 145 parking bays. The development is split across 3 wings or 'houses' (namely Tower House, Club House and Pavilion House); with a circulation core at each end, and a central double-loaded corridor linking them up. The building steps down to meet the main road to the south to provide a more 'human scale' front door to the development, whilst also creating rare and valuable roof-top amenity spaces in this part of the capital city.
The brief asked for a careful mix of units to match a specific set of prospective tenants; with each 'house' catering to a different unit mix. It also asked for one-of-a-kind amenity spaces for Kinshasa (including a gym, pool and bar); a memorable approach / front door to the development; and a legible and clear architectural approach, to give the development and it's residents a strong sense of identity.
