The main danger is the falling rocks and over the years there have been more than a few accidents there. Have two spotters looking up from both sides and the others can cross fast when it looks clear

Maybe less. But it is indeed steep and many falling rocks. So you'd need two spotters looking up and cross fast, only when it looks clear
