Where did you get the MP40? Is it a bfong from Dunrite?

@@TheGermanDoughboyI’ve been thinking of getting one. In your opinion is it worth the money???

@@goldentiger03 I would say yes they are. They are the best priced MP40 Bfong on the market right now currently and they work quite reliably. I’ve had a few minor quirks and issues with my mp40 but nothing that was not easily fixable. After you fire approximately 900 - 1200 rounds through them and get the kinks worked out of them they work flawlessly. Tell me how I know, I’ve owned 2 dun rite MP40’s and 1 m3 grease gun since they’ve been around. My only complaint with them is you are not able field strip them and they are wielded shut. That said they are so well made I’ve never had a mechanical issue or needed to send it back for repairs. Just like any Bfong tho there are always going to be those pro’s and con’s.

I'm curious how all of this works...how much is it to participate? How much realism is expected? Do you have to get special permission to dress up like Nazi's? (I mean like WW2 Nazi's and not the people wearing red hats). I would love to see a video on the basics of reenactment...looks like a ton of fun.

To answer your questions- The cost for entry into events varies from event to event, but the real cost is in equipment. Realism is less the idea, it's more about being as historically accurate as possible, including the uniforms. You don't need special permission to dress this way for a WWII reenactment, or living history event if you are in a German unit. Outside of a reenactment is a whole other thing, in the WWII reenactment community it is largely frowned upon to go into public with any German iconography. Although that's reenacting/living history in the US, I can't speak for other countries. As for a vid on the basics, there's lots of vids on it, I recommend world war wisdom myself. I do WWII living history with a German unit.
