There came a realization to me recently that not only am i receiving His body and blood, i am leaving my sin, my anxieties, my depression, my wants, lusts, burdens, at the feet of the Lord at His table; for Him to take them for me and from me in exchange for His grace. Thank you, Lord Jesus

Beautiful music and ecclesiastical background, an elder statesman of the church, but it all leaves me cold because nothing can replace the true confession that in this sacrament we receive the very Body and Blood of Christ, for the remission of sins, life and salvation. All the beauty in the world cannot equal "take eat this is my body." "This cup IS the new testament ..." That is to say that this celebration of eucharist both constitutes and defines one as Christ's. Anything less leaves the church living, at best, beneath the spiritual poverty line.

Thank you... there are many spiritual dynamics to the Lord's Supper. “We have sat together many times before, and we shall sit together many times again in the Kingdom. We shall laugh together very much in those times, and we shall tell of the things that befell us in the Path of God. In every world of God a new Lord's Supper is set for the faithful." - Bahá'í World, vol. XII, p. 899

He told Noah how to specifically build the Ark, He told Moses how to specifically, build the tabernacle. For something so important, He would be specific and say exactly what it should be, and would not leave it up to man to do what they feel like. 1. If it is meant to be bread, then why is there so much versions ? What is it meant to be, bread, wafer, cracker ? What is it ? Isnt God specific ? 2. How often should it be taken ? 3. What is the recipe ? 4. What happens if you cant get hold of this bread, cracker or wafer, especially with this lockdown ? 5. Who's hands made this bread, cracker or wafer ? 6. How does it affect the spiritual man ? Then if we are the body of Christ, then how can it be a symbol of his body, when we are now the body of Christ ? 1 Corinthians 10 vs 16: For we being many are one bread and one body. are now the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12 vs 12 - 14. Jesus said that I am the living Bread and if you eat of me, you shall live. The word eat, means to believe. Matthew 26 vs 29: He said He wont drink it a new, until He drinks it an new in His father's Kingdom. He was saying that He would no communicate or interact with them, in the literal flesh as He was, but letting them know that He was about to be offered, but He would come back and fellowship with His people in the Spirit. Acts 2 shows the outpouring of the spirit upon the true worshippers who waited for Him as He had instructed and promised. John 4 vs 24: They that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Romans 14 vs 17: Shows clearly that the Kingdom is not natural but spiritual. The Kingdom is not in meat or drink, but righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. This makes it clear that, whatever He was teaching, it was spiritual. They that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Why hold on to a symbol, when Jesus Christ is the reality ? How can we take a natural piece of bread, wafer or cracker that passes out in the toilet, to remember Him, who is Spirit ? I believe that their is a great misunderstanding, of what Jesus was trying to teach them. I dont believe that he was instigating a literal ceremonial supper or feast, but used their common feast or practice, as he always did, in order to teach them something deeper and something spiritual, and that was the relationship and fellowship with each other and with Him. When we have a deep spiritual relationship with Him, in submission, prayer, the word, and worship, then our relationship is enough to remind us of what He did on Calvary. Do we need a literal and natural piece of bread to remind us of Calvary? The truth is, a piece of bread, cracker or wafer should not be the trigger, to us remembering His death, but our relationship with Him. When we got our relationship in place, then we will always remember what He has done and what he is still doing. Please note that whatever, goes in the body, ends up in the toilet. God is greater than that. His teaching was about relationship and fellowship

At the end he is urging people to take the Lord's Supper seriously, I submit that the reason this pleading is necessary is because his theology doesn't. Jesus said "this is my body", I simply hold that "is" means "is". Nothing more nothing less.

What is the Sacrament of the Altar? It is the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ under the bread and wine, instituted by Christ Himself for us Christians to eat and to drink. Where is this written? The holy Evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke, and St. Paul write:Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the night when He was betrayed, took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to the disciples and said: “Take, eat; this is My body, which is given for you. This do in remembrance of Me.” In the same way also He took the cup after supper, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you; this cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” What is the benefit of this eating and drinking? These words, “Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins,” show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. For where there is forgiveness of sins, there is also life and salvation. How can bodily eating and drinking do such great things? Certainly not just eating and drinking do these things, but the words written here: “Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins.” These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Whoever believes these words has exactly what they say: “forgiveness of sins.” Who receives this sacrament worthily? Fasting and bodily preparation are certainly fine outward training. But that person is truly worthy and well prepared who has faith in these words: “Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins.” But anyone who does not believe these words or doubts them is unworthy and unprepared, for the words “for you” require all hearts to believe.

Are you trying to say, in contradiction to this video, that the Eucharist is truly the body and blood of Christ? I believe that is the official stance of the Catholic Church, so I know some people believe that, but your post isn't 100% clear if that is what you are trying to say.

For the bread and for the wine, For the pledge that seals Him mine, For the words of love divine, We give Thee thanks, O Lord. Only bread and only wine, Yet to faith, the solemn sign Of the heav’nly and divine! We give Thee thanks, O Lord. For the words that turn our eye To the cross of Calvary, Bidding us in faith draw nigh, We give Thee thanks, O Lord. For the words that fragrance breathe These plain symbols underneath, Words that His own peace bequeath, We give Thee thanks, O Lord. For Thy words in Spirit, shown, For Thy will to us made known, “Do ye this until I come,” We give Thee thanks, O Lord. Till He come we take the bread, Type of Him on whom we feed, Him who liveth and was dead! We give Thee thanks, O Lord. Till He come we take the cup; As we at His table sup, Eye and heart are lifted up! We give Thee thanks, O Lord. For that coming, here foreshown, For that day to man unknown, For the glory and the throne, We give Thee thanks, O Lord.

Did they eat symbols of the Passover lamb or the literal flesh of the Passover lamb????? When people found Jesus' teaching "hard to believe", didn't He, as God, not know they might misunderstand his "symbolic proclamation" to be literal???? It's not as if God almighty wouldn't be clear and just merely say "oh I'm sorry I wasn't able to convey my symbolic message rightly so you misunderstood it as literal flesh, but I have to correct the way I convoyed the message" God forbid! Instead He told them, "will you also leave?"
@ntlearning
@ntlearning 3 жыл бұрын
Um…. They ate the flesh yes but didn’t drink the blood of the lamb did they? Problem 1 for you. Number 2, regarding “does this offend you?” …Jesus went on to say in verse 64&65 that he knew “from the beginning” who would betray him. Some read the silence of Jesus as proof of literal body of Christ but others see the silence explained in vs 64-65 and speaking “spiritually” (my words are spirit vs63) to address the fact that no one comes to the Father unless it has been granted them. It’s starting to move away from Eucharist into predestination. THEN many disciples left and walked away.

There is nothing symbolic about the Lords Supper.Is it a ritual or participation? There is one perfect sacrifice to end all sacrifices and one continuous celebration supper celebrating Jesus victory until Jesus returns in glory..This takes place in Jesus presence Mt 18:20.How do we participate in a sacrifice 1 Corinthians 10:18 tells us the answer by eating of the sacrifice. When Israel ate the lamb and applied the cup(blood) there were really participating in the Calvary sacrifice.So it was imputed to them that they were eating of Jesus body and blood. When we eat the Passover bread and drinking the Passover cup . The early believers broke bread daily from house to house Acts 2:46

What Packer is trying to emphasize in his misleading speech is that you got to drink the wine believing that through the blood of Jesus what he wants christians to beleive mankind is saved from the consequences of their sins and that bread is like eating a piece of bread with an intention of allowing jesus to nourish you through this piece of bread. But..... my question to you Packer and to your listeners is if the way of GOD is that the sinless and innocent person must die and pay the price for the sins and crimes of others dont you think so that you are worshipping and beleiving a god which you have invented in your fantasy is most unjust towards his creation? you do the sin and jesus pay the price, you steal you lie you cheat you deceive you mislead you create confusions through misleading interpretations about he way GOD deals with His creation and how the sins can be forgiven by All Mighty All Merciful All Forgiving GOD (Allah) but in your thoughts it is only through the crucifixion of christ. Isnt it unjust nature of GOD you believe what I beleive is NOT true at all. Drinking wine with an intention of honoring the blood shed by jesus on the cross. this is infact the worst deception of satan which makes people like you believe that the freedom from the sins is acheived through belief in Crucification, Murder, Slaughter of the only "son of God" by the hands of most evil people Jews and Roman pagans. So your God is pleased of sacrifice offered to him through the hands of worst disbeleivers and rejectors of God and His appointed Man Jesus Christ as a compensation to be paid to God so that He can forgive your sins. Think in what world of deception you have been living in and see what a fooly have you been preaching whole of your life and now you are on the climax but still upholding the same disbeleif as the principles of beleif to face the Divine Judgement of GOD His Wrath and eternal damnation. Repent from lies and bloody mindedness Packer and bow down to GOD who is not in need of any son or daughter to be slaughtered by infidels to release humanity from the shackels of their sins. Repentance to Allah will alone release you from the Wrath and Anger of Allah and save you from Hell. Repent Repent Repent. May Allah help my words reach you and help you and your listerners and blind followers to repent repent and repent to Allah to be saved. Aaameen~~~~

Heavenly Smile John 3:16, John 14:6. There is no amount of work we can do to attain salvation. the work has been done for us through Christ who lived life sinless and was therefore the Lamb without blemish to be sacrificed, whose blood covers our sins. Humanity cannot rely on its own righteousness, therefore we rely on the righteousness of Christ to cover us that we are acceptable to God. Repent and be baptized; in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit
