Crow Agency Native American Fair

Images from a Native American celebration (called a Pow Wow) which took place on August 20, 1994 at the Crow Agency in Big Horn County, Montana near the actual location of the Little Bighorn National Monument. This gathering is one of the largest annual festivals for Native Americans and includes dance contests and a rodeo.

Yes this was all one event and I was there for several days to witness as much as I could.

WOW Shirley you are so cool - off again I love it. I am going to India for 22 days in October and November. Already paid air and 1/2 tour. Another private tour for me since I added several places to the original itinerary. Finland - what an adventure - I want a full report when you return.

.I know this is old but it just popped up in my feed. I am 70 yrs old now but my whole life growing up I was a huge fan of American Indians/Natives. In 1996 i was coming home from a vacation and I was excited to be able to attend I got there as it was starting, but I was told it was Indian only, no white people...Hugely disappointed and that dropped my life long interest like a stone. Now I am an old man and no longer care about native americans. That was a major part of my life. I did quite a few wood carvings and paintings, sad this is the way it turned out.

There are some rituals that are private and secret but the majority of gatherings welcome all people. I've been to many Pow Wow's and could stay as long as I wish into the night. Native Americans are a very complicated but welcoming people with many beliefs. I'm so sorry you had this experience. Thank you for your comments and for viewing my video.
