The look of pure, angellic adoration on Azi's face when Crowley hands him the books! Not to mention Crowley being willing to walk (for him) on a bed of hot coals for Azi's sake is everything to me!

What I love about this is that Crowley had SO many opportunities to make this a less dramatic moment -- he could've miracled the gun into a squirt gun and just walked Aziraphale out, safe and sound, with no need for a bomb. Or not even "walked" out -- Crowley could've yelled from the door, no need to burn his feet at all. Heck, he could've saved the both of them himself with his own miracle. He uses a miracle to save the books, so why would he need Aziraphale to do it? I'll tell you why. Because this entire thing was a convoluted plan to make him look awesome in front of Aziraphale. He could've saved Aziraphale's life, sure -- but he already did that in the past. What would REALLY get Aziraphale's attention was saving his books. To wait until the last second, when Aziraphale was distraught, to pull the books from the ashes with all the dramatics and flair of a stage magician. And hey, the goofy plan worked. Dorks, the both of them.

When I first saw this scene I was confused like “Is Crowley tap-dancing in to save him??” and then I realized he was on holy ground and I cracked up

Took me right back to the Saturday late night tv movies of my youth. Also, haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere, but Crowley’s hat from this scene is later seen hanging on the coat stand in Aziraphale’s bookshop, begging the question, what happened on the “lift home”? Since they’ve obviously quarreled sometime before the 60s holy water scene, one wonders if Crowley got hopeful, and then got fresh after taking Aziraphale home that night. “You go too fast for me.” Hurt feelings, hasty words, forgotten hat and slammed door. (Yes, I know the hat’s a tribute to Terry Pratchett, but still it has to have a reason to be there). No, I’m not obsessed-I’m focused.
