This is the first of four workshops for children aged 5 and over, who will work with their parents/families to craft a decorative totem pole and a fun wigwam to enjoy all summer long! In this video, Aoife of Wicklow Willow will show you how to look for suitable materials in your local green areas.
While Aoife will explain materials needed for the totem poles and wigwams in this video, here is a list of items that you can collect in advance:
• secateurs
• light sandpaper
• non-toxic paints
• paintbrushes
• cable ties or string
• large screwdriver
• tape measure
• buttons/ ribbon/ beads/ bunting/ feathers
Parental supervision is essential when using secateurs and other sharp tools.
