A chat of one of the oldest reggae bands in Malawi, The Black Missionaries Band. The band had originally five members, namely Evison Matafale, Peter Amidu, and three of the seven sons of Robert Fumulani: Musamude, Anjilu, and Chizondi. In the program we talk to the three surviving members of the band Peter, Anjilu and Chizondi. They talk about the humble begginings of the band, the death of the leader and founder of the band Evison Matafale whilst in police custody in 2001 and the death of his successor Musamude on 17 September 2007. They also address other issues like the annual Evison Matafale Memorial show, the challenges the band has faced to be where they are now. They appeal for support while artists are alive, lamenting Evison Matafale was never celebrated when he was alive as he is now.

Matafale kutsekula mau kubuula ngati mkango ... so nice to listen to this. I was a kid when he was killed. I wept, I loved Matafale. The family has made him proud by maintaining the band and the music. These gentlemen make us all proud to be Malawians.

You can tell that Matafale loved all of these brothers, but his bond with Chizondi was surely special. You see Chizondi almost breaking into tears as he remembers the incidents that led to the legend's murder connected to Bakili Muluzi.
