Cruise Adventure: Carnival Legend Tour and Baltimore Bridge Collapse

Come along with us on a cruise adventure aboard the Carnival Legend! We cruised on the Carnival Legend out of Baltimore Maryland on March 24th, 2024. This cruise was impacted in that we could not return to the home port of Baltimore due to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge which happened two days after our cruise left Baltimore. In this video, I'll cover our boarding, give you a tour of the Carnival Legend ship and at the end show you how we heard about the collapsed bridge. This will be a series and in my next video I'll cover more about Carnival cruises response to the bridge collapse, how they updated us and show you all the amazing ports we visited. Thank you. It's pretty impressive all the different areas and features the ship offers. We felt uneasy at first because they were talking about maybe taking us to the New York port and that was further north so we were afraid we wouldn't get back home in time for the kids to return to school. This was our first time going on a cruise with Carnival out of Baltimore and it's crazy this happened. It was still a great ship and we had so much fun.

Crazy that this all happened on the week we were on our cruise, but we had a great time and Carnival came up with a great plan to get us home.

Great cruise for the whole family! Fun that they have so many activities for the kids! The variety of pools and seating areas outside is perfect! Such a tragic accident with the ship hitting the bridge- it’s amazing that it collapsed and fell so fast. Sounds like everything worked out for you guys and everyone on the ship. - Jen 🌸🌸

Yes, a cruise like this is really ideal for families. We had such a fun time and have some great excursions to show in upcoming videos. Such a shame about the bridge, but Carnival did a great job in communicating and developing a plan to get us back home.

This is only the second cruise I've ever been on. They are lots of fun, especially if you go with friends and family. Ideal type of vacation for traveling with a group.

This ship holds about 2,500 passengers so it is a bit like a small city. Lots of families on it to enjoy spring break. We really had a wonderful time.

We were so impressed with Carnival. The fact that they were able to get all of those buses and employees lined up on Easter to get us back to Baltimore was amazing. I covered a bit more of that in my second and third video of this series. This was our first time going on a Carnival cruise and I would definitely go on another one. Hope you had an amazing cruise too!

Before the cruise my husband kept talking about convenient it will be to cruise from Baltimore. Just a quick drive. To get home, we ended up being bused four hours from the Norfolk port back to Baltimore to get our car. From there, we drove back to Pennsylvania. Nothing ever goes perfect when traveling. Overall, the cruise was awesome and our kids loved it too.

You gave a really good thorough review of the cruise ship. I have never been on one before. Yeah, the bridge collapse was definitely something. It’s hard to believe that the whole thing collapsed. Hope you all had a great time.👍

Thanks. I think going on a cruise over spring break made it have way more kids on the ship compared to other times of the year. We were good with that since we were with our kids, family friends and my sister's family. Carnival gave us good updates on the bridge collapse and got us back to Baltimore. We had an awesome time.

Looks like a great cruise. Lots for the whole family! I would probably eat many burgers also and my kids would be like your kids and eat lots of ice cream! Get me on those water slides! Seen the bridge collapse on the news. Very sad indeed! My wife would like the afternoon tea. With a glass of Prosecco!

It was so nice to see your Carnival ship tour we almost booked Carnival in April but changed our mind we are thinking Carnival next year . We will keep an eye on this trip as a possibility for next year. We are doing a cruise in July and thinking one or two cruises a year is in our future for sure. That was a shock about the bridge and wow just 2 days prior you were under it. It will be interesting to see how the rest of your trip goes and how Carnival navigates but you are correct in overall it is small compared to those that were on the bridge that night and all those affected for quite a while it will affect shipments and economy a great deal as well. Looking forward to seeing your Bahama trip and more on Carnival love getting ideas.

I had only cruised once before to Alaska on Princess cruise lines. I loved that trip, but this Carnival ship had better amenities and entertainment. I'll have three videos covering this trip with more details - but we were so impressed with Carnival and so happy with our cruise. Thanks for watching. I enjoyed this video! We’ve never been on a cruise. Too many ppl… trapped in one area… not for me but I’m always curious. The ship was beautiful. I actually have some material sitting on the ship in Baltimore right now. So terrible. Get home safe and have fun!

This is only my second cruise..I don't really like crowds, but I loved this trip. We knew going into it that spring break is a popular cruising time for families so certain areas like the pool are very busy with kids. I read the other day the barge is still pinned under the bridge with the workers on it. Such an awful situation.

It was a really different experience for us and we all enjoyed the cruise. And of course, we took an excursion to a National Park in the Bahamas, so you'll see that in Wednesday's video.

Too bad tragedy has such bad timing. It reminds of a trip I did with family on a cruise, on the last day of the trip someone jumped off the ship and he was never found.

We’ve never done a cruise. Jessie totally would, but I really don’t have a big interest in taking one. The ship looks pretty neat. Sure looks crowded too. Is sad about the bridge and the lives lost, but it could have been so much worse.

This is our second cruise. The first one was about five years ago and we cruised to Alaska. This one was over spring break and I knew it would be pretty crowded. We brought our kids with us and lots of other people did too. We had an awesome time.

I can understand. Going on a cruise doesn't appeal to everyone, especially if you aren't a fan of crowds. This was an ideal vacation for going with a group and doing something fun with our kids.
