Cruise From Japan to Taiwan on MSC Bellissima - Departure Day Travel to Tokyo, Japan

2 ай бұрынOur cruise from Japan to Taiwan on the MSC Bellissima has finally arrived.
In order not to be stressed and ensure that we had enough time to make the cruise if we had delays, we went to Japan a couple of days before the cruise.
We decided to stay in Yokohama as that is where the cruise departed. In this first of our series of videos about this cruise we track leaving home to arriving in Yokohama.

Thank you. Back home safely now. We were on the lookout for the notorious bar scouts whilst we were in Tokyo but didn't come across any. I'm sure they were around though.

🎉How exciting! I lived in Brissy, '79 through '90 and remember a few foggy mornings. I could see the tower( which I guess may or not be still there) that had lights to show visibility distance for planes? It was good because I worked 5am starts. I've never had a flight anything but full, you lucky ducks!

We have never had a flight like that either. We kept thinking that any minute a hoard of people would come down the aisles but then they closed the doors and off we went.

Thanks Marlene. It wasn't without its stresses, particularly when we were trying to find the right line to the hotel from Yokohama after a very early start but it all worked out.

Had to laugh Rob when you said it was 18o and you was cold , the other day when I was leaving home to get the bus to go to Cafe for a coffee it was minus 4o with a feels like temperature of minus 7o. I was frozen but that caffeine was calling my name hehe ❤

I know, I've got soft living in Queensland. Back in the England days we wouldn't have batted an eyelid at minus 4 and 18 would have been a Summer day.

4 of us will be over there in May,on a Diamond Princess cruise definitely catching a Taxi now.

Check where the ship is leaving from. If it's Osambashi Pier then it's across the road from the Citadines Hotel where we stayed. Taxis are really, really expensive in Japan. For example, a train from Yokohama to Tokyo costs around AU$5 each whereas a taxi is around AU$170. Taxi from Narita airport to Yokohama is over AU$200. We were told that a taxi from our hotel to the terminal where we left from would be around AU$50 but haven't had that verified.

How good is a near empty flight! Food looked good too! Great to see dairy free options for me. Have so much fun. Can’t wait to do Japan one day! 🤞🏼

The dairy free options on the Bellissima were about the best we have seen on any cruise ship around here. Definitely take a look at it if that's what you are looking for.

Hi guys, just need to see how you got from hotel to cruise terminal please, we are doing same as you on diamond princess in august, your journey is helping me sort mine , thanks in advance Stephen.

Hi Stephen. MSC had a shuttle bus that went from the pier in Yokohama. We checked our luggage in there and the bus took us to the ship. Check which terminal the ship is leaving from. If it's Osambashi then it's the terminal across the road from our hotel (Citadines). If it's the one on the other side of the river then you might need to get a taxi if Princess aren't running a shuttle service.

Hi guys, we're cruising on the Carnival luminosa in December next year to Airlie Beach, Cairns, Port Douglas and Willis Island. If I'm well enough to do it as it is 18 months away. I was just wondering, am I able to go to a duty free shop in Brisbane to buy some thing before we board the ship or is duty free only available on the ship? And for a cruise that includes Willis Island, do we need a passport as ID or can we just use our 18+ photo identification cards +

Hi Deb. There is no Duty Free at Brisbane, unfortunately but you should be able to buy it on the ship as it includes Willis Island. You don't need a passport as it doesn't stop at any international ports, driving licence or other government issued photo ID will be fine.
