You should drink that wine 15 years ago. Only the very best white wines with optimal storage will survive with quality for more then a decade. Save that bottle now as is, at this point I would never open it. It is a wonderful memento to be cherished, held and talked about. Cheers!!!

Thanks Jim, for those of us who don’t know sh!t about wine, your comment clears up some confusion! Tony, maybe just leave that bottle over your fireplace as a beautiful memory & decoration. This has inspired me to some homework when it comes to wine quality. I’m more of a tequila guy myself...#teamtony 🤣Happy 5 de Mayo to all🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

Sorry, Tony that wine is probably past its prime especially if it was not cellared. Drink it now. My wife likes Australian Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and if it is a very special occasion Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. My go-to wine this year is Italian Fantini Sangiovese. BTW Oceania allows up to 6 - 750ml per room. You can replenish it at each port if needed. I believe that it is also $15 corkage in the restaurants. Cheers.

We were married in 1990. In 1991 we purchased 2 bottles of 1990 German wine (we met in Germany), on our 25th (Silver) we opened 1 bottle while on the Carnival Paradise, it was still very good. On our 50th, (Gold) 20 years from soon, we will open the 2nd bottle. These were/are our milestones, you and Jenny have to choose your own, whenever you do open that bottle of wine, just enjoy it together.

Screw tops on wins are called Stelvens and many wines are going to that because they can be stored upright and take less room than those with a cork that have to be stored on the sides to keep cork from drying out.

My wife and I are platinum with Disney Cruise line. Yes, Disney lets you bring 2 bottles per adult or 6 beers in carry on or at each port. Yes you can pour your beverage in your cup and drink around the ship. Disney doesn’t say anything. Also people on Disney usually don’t drink much. Several years ago Disney used to let you bring hard liquor on board but no longer.

Hey just FYI. We are going on Princess and bringing our own wine and will gladly pay the corkage fee due to the rising cost of the wines they offer plus every bottle and every glass you buy has gratuity at 18% added to it. So be aware. $15 is a lot cheaper even with a $15 bottle. Oh and we are Red wine couple. We are going on Carnival today and Princess next week so excited

99% chance you'll regret opening the wine bottle, unless you open it fully expecting to dump it and clean/save the bottle.. 95% chance the cork will break into pieces, crumbs, or dust. 95% chance it will taste undrinkable, even after you run it through a coffee filter to get rid of cork-dust bits. I'd just keep it bottled until the cork smells bad or you can smell the wine through the cork. Then dump it out and keep the bottle. Even some great red wines that can last 50 years, are gross after 15 years of average storage conditions. It takes really careful cellaring and monitoring of wine to keep it very long and still taste good. If you get 12 identical bottles and open one every 2 years, you can drink it all up at the first sign of it going downhill. And it's not as if any consumer-level white wine ages well and reaches a peak. It peaked when it was put in the bottle. Plan B would be to keep it preserved as-is for other reasons. Like that if you ever get divorced, pretend it has great sentimental value to you, but eventually let her "win" by her getting the bottle and you getting the 86 inch TV. Or if you die, she can cry that you never got to drink it together, and she'll tell everyone how perfect a guy you were.

We like Moscato wine. We usually bring at least 2 bottles with us. I was surprised that it depends on the server if they decide to charge the $15 corkage fee. On our next cruise we will be bring at least 4 bottles because hubby will not drink anything else and does not drink hard alcohol so this is special for him. My tastes is much more varied. Not a dry wine lover at all. Thanks for sharing!!

dry red wine is my preference: Merlot; Shiraz; Cab Sauvignon. Looks like your bottle is corked; hopefully you have stored in lying down so the cork did not dry out; if so, it should be OK. Drink it when the mood hits ya!

Tony, I really think your bottle of wine is way past it's drinking stage. I would just keep the bottle as a keepsake. If it was a Cabernet or maybe some other Full body wine it would be fine to drink it. This video is again one that is very informative. Drink white wine ..soon... unless stored in cool dry consistent temps, then a bit longer, but whites tend to not age well. Reds can improve with age, but not always. The bottle of white you have from 2003, .. well.. don't be disappointed if it doesn't taste nice.. :D

“I’ll meet you anytime you like, at our Italian restaurant” - great song! I’ve seen him in person a couple of times and he always puts on a great show. Once saw Elton John and Billy Joel together, was my favorite concert ever. Both of their grand pianos rose up to the stage from below ground in a spectacular light show. And they would sing together and each other songs! It was awesome. Wine is lovely, I lean toward Cabs and Merlot, but love a great pink champagne occasionally. Do you have a recommendation or favorite brand of one of the above (preferably under $50) ?

Some tips: Red wine doesn’t require refrigeration. Twist caps slightly more expensive than cork, but better to avoid bringing a corkscrew. Royal Caribbean might not allow corkscrews in checked luggage or carryon, but they have attendants who may have them on-board. Bring your own wine cooler insulated cups, which have caps to prevent spilling. Pour wine into cups and bring to Main Dining room to prevent corkage fee.

@@lisawright5674 I'd specifically recommend Spätlese, which is made from the Reisling grape, but is allowed to ripen longer before harvest and thus is sweeter. IIRC, the different types of Reisling from sweetest to driest are Spätlese, Reisling-Spätlese, Reisling, and Reisling Kabinett. There's also and Auslese that even sweeter than Reisling, but that's usually considered a dessert wine.
