The first video from my recent time in the Lakes is a relatively easy, low-level circular walk around Crummock Water starting in the village of Buttermere. As always, I hope you enjoy this video & look forward to the next few from my time in the Lakes :)

Very nicely done again. The weather hasn't been great. We’ll appreciate it more when we get those beautiful days. You captured it so well,leaves the water at the beginning, huge trees. That water looked cold but you did it. 🫡💪👏👏Well done.

Lake Distict looks a beautiful place. I'm hoping to get there this year and explore hope to see a few more in Wales later in the year. I'm sure you will. I had a cold morning swim this morning. Yours looked colder though. Keep up the good work.😁👋

I think the weather has been mixed the whole of this year but good to see it has not stopped you getting out. Never done the walk around Crummock Water, although Mrs Metalman favourite walk is the walk around Buttermere, so really enjoyed watching this and one for us both next time we are down there. It really has been one storm after another here this year, be nice to have some sunnier days though now that days are getting longer! Definitely worth a try this one, can always make a full day of it by including Buttermere too - stopping off for some tea & cake half way around would be a perfect day. Hi Christine, Wow, don't ever remember seeing waves like that on Crummock. You took the anticlockwise route by the look of it. By the oak leaves 🍃 guess this was back in November? Cake features of course 😋 👌. I spent the longest night of my life by the lakeshore in a plastic bivvy bag in October. The water at the lake edges froze overnight, I was on a survival course which taught me a thing or two about endurance, and lack of cake 🎂 of course. Cheers Graham

I’d never seen waves like that on Crummock either, Buttermere was pretty choppy too! And yes anti-clockwise from Buttermere - did this in March… with all the stormy weather still lots of leaves left on the ground and in the water! 🍂 oh no that sounds very challenging, especially with no cake to lift your spirits!! Must have been a nice sense of achievement once complete though! Thanks for watching Graham 😊🫶🏻

Hi Christine. Such a calming video to watch even with the choppy water. Such fabulous scenery and super colours all round. It looks a lovely lake walk and yes I dont know why its not really too popular with walkers. Was there much road walking on the eastern side of the lake Ive only walked the western side from Buttermere to Melbreak. Thanks for taking us along once again 🙂

Thanks Tony, couldn’t believe how choppy the waters were, Buttermere too! It’s a great circular walk, a short section on the road around Rannerdale Knotts if you choose not to ascend up but not too long before joining the path in the woodland! Really want to hike up Melbreak too at some point, looks very imposing from the water! Thanks for watching again 🫶🏻

Sadly don’t know of any apps for hikers to meet up but there are plenty of hiking groups on Instagram that you could follow if you search for your area or have a look on Meetup :) the coast to coast sounds like great fun, hope you enjoy!
