Dough Preparation:
In a kneading bowl, mix one cup and one fourth of a cup (310 ml) of warm water, one tbsp (10 grams) yeast, and one tbsp (10 grams) sugar. Let it activate for 10 minutes.
To the yeast mixture, add two tbsp (30 grams) yogurt, two cups (340 grams) all-purpose flour, two tbsp (20 grams) cornstarch, a sprinkle of salt, and one tsp vanilla. Knead until combined.
Add two tbsp (30 ml) vegetable oil and knead for 10 minutes.
Cover and let it rest until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Syrup Preparation:
In a pot, combine one cup and one fourths of a cup (310 ml) of water, two cups (400 grams) sugar, and cardamom. Boil over medium heat for 10 minutes.
Stir in one tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice and one fourth of a cup (60 ml) honey. Let it cool to room temperature.
Remove the air bubbles from the dough. Fill an icing syringe or piping bag.
Cut small portions of dough into hot vegetable oil. Roll until cooked from all sides, then lower heat. Once golden, transfer immediately to syrup.
Soak in Syrup: Keep them in syrup for one minute
