I get where Lloyd is coming from. He has the mentality of someone who went through the first game without any upgrades, and is now fighting the first boss with all the upgrades in the second playthrough

Lloyd feels so unhinged in a refreshing way. Might be basic insanity over improvements to learn of new crafts or techniques but its so infectious. Love this prince's energy so much!

In the stories you're thinking of, the antagonists are obstacles in the way of the protagonist's goals and their power and skills is how they get past them to reach it. In this story, power *IS* the protagonist's goal and the enemies are punching bags to demonstrate them.

Would definitely like to see more stuff like this going forward. I wasn't sure about this show at first, mainly the creepy overdeveloped way they illustrate Lloyd's design 😅 But I mean hey, that's just Japan. They have some stuff that's weird to us Westerners, but maybe it's just a thing over in the East that we wouldn't get. Either way, badass unhinged mage moments like this more than make up for it. This was super cool.
