Lmao, I just finished a game playing as a count and somehow has a weak claim to the entirety of Hungary, and thus started a long and strange series of events in which my lowly count was temporarily a kind and then an emporer and then very, very dead.

Honestly, not many better ways to go out.

Depends; size difference, technology, commanders, and terrain modify your odds to win. For example if 700 troops with good commanders defend on mountains against 1000 troops with bad commanders. The smaller army will win due to the terrain bonus and the commander bonus. Other things that affect odds of winning are traits on the commanders, morale of troops, attrition and army composition.

Good question! Each war option basically says what the conditions are for winning a war, white peace, and surrendering. The different options are basically just saying what you want from the war and no option will lower opinions more than any other. :)

Probably not. Simple tips: 1. 100 men to 1 boat. 2. You start with half morale when leaving boats. 3. Your own boats cost a lot of money. Vassals are free (they still get mad if you have them raised too long as with troops). 4. There is no naval combat. You can just go through other boats. 5. Hotkey for getting on a boat is v or shift-v for multiple units in different locations.

It's a yearly percentage chance based on the diplomacy of the chancellor. You can find out the chance by hovering over the icon on the council screen. It can sometimes take a really long time. :)

Usually, it has to do with the size of the army and the composition of the army because the army was much larger and made up of higher-tech units it wiped them. I believe having more cavalry can help as well as I think they do more damage during the pursuit phase that happens as they are retreating (but I'd check that as I'm not 100% sure). If you can beat their armies then what you can do is take just the war goal (I'm assuming that you declared for just one county) and hold it. After a while you should start getting ticking war score every month that will eventually allow you to win the war (although it will be slow). What should also happen if you are beating their armies is you should be able to grab a little more battle warscore to speed things up a bit. Other things to consider would be making sure you still have enough money coming in to support the war (make sure you're collecting taxes etc) and maybe try to disrupt the enemy by killing their leaders (be careful not to kill the Navarran leader if their heir is landed or is about to get land or it will make the war more difficult or potentially invalidate it) or disrupting their territory. Hope that helps.

If you hover over the “no” when trying to invite people it should give you the reasons they won’t join. A lot of the time plots are hard to get going if no one is interested at the start. If you have the way of life dlc it may be worth checking out the intrigue focuses as both can help with getting people in plots. If you want to kill your brother for his land it may be easier to kill his children and then inherit the land when your brother dies naturally. :)

It sounds like you have factions built up which can make demands if their combined strength is higher than/close to your strength. If you have just been in a war you are likely weaker so the faction can fire. I would recommend checking the faction screen and making your vassals like you. During a war troops will continue to reinforce and can be raised at any holding. The way to stop this is to target more important holdings first (e.g. their capital) or target easy to siege holdings (usually tribal or low fort level) in order to reduce the overall troop numbers they can reinforce up to. Another thing to remember is that you can do this with your own army so if you get weak it might be worth moving some troops back to your own holdings to reinforce or disbanding your troops and re-raising to pull more troops out of your reserves.

Disband them using the miltary tab or after clicking on the unit press the red disband button or after clicking on the unit press the "x" hotkey. Make sure you do this with your unit in your own teritory or you will not get all troops returned to the levy.

Nope, not a thing in ck2 at all.

Wasn't a thing till pearl harbor Edit; you can prepare for a war by staging soldiers, but that's as far as that goes.

From the sounds of it you have clicked on a vassal while you can only declare war on the top level liege. For example, you can't declare war on a duke but you can on the king above them.

In CK2 that's just the way it works 99% of the time. There are no EU4 style negotiations, you just get what you have a claim for. There are some cbs which let you take everything you have sieged but I don't remember them off the top of my head and they are quite uncommon for most characters. Generally if you want a lot of land you're looking for holy wars, crusades/great holy wars and invasions. Of course, all of this is just for the current patch. I'm assuming you are looking for a way to increase your army size. For your personal levy I recommend looking into building in your capital and increasing your martial. For increasing the number of troops you get from vassals I recommend either changing laws or making them like you more through gifts. If you have a lot of money, you could hire mercenaries to fight for you (although don't use them for long or you will run out of money quickly). :)

it could be that you used the wrong cb or you white peaced.

based on other paradox game i think countries will also capitulate, usually when you capture their capital, you may want a second opinion on this tho

You have to wage a war with a CB that lets you claim every county.

You may wish to try Crusader Kings 3 in that case. The UI is much improved for guiding you through the game and a lot of confusing mechanics have either been simplified or actually explained in game. I think it's on gamepass if you have that and want to try it out.

Marco Kõrge For the chancellor one you will get a pop up asking if you want to trade gold for the claim. Otherwise you just have to check. I think one of the map modes also shows cbs when you hover over a country.

Sounds like your levy is over 1000 when you raise it and that's why you can't split it. You may be able to hire some mercenary boats to move your troops but they may also be quite expensive.

If it autopeaced it generally means the war got invalidated. My guess is that you destroyed all the troops and they surrendered to a revolt/faction which caused your war to be invalid. If it was a holy war it could be that they switched religion which would also do it (as you can't holy war your own religion). Can't be sure without seeing it but there are some weird edge cases out there that are annoying.

If you don't press it in war 1 generation. E.g. Parent has Strong claim -> Child gets claim -> grandchild loses claim.

CK2 AI are very swayed by the size of your army. If you get a larger number of troops the AI will be less likely to declare war. I believe they also take into account your allies strength so potentially getting an ally with a large army will help. The other option is to create some alliances with your neighbours who have de jure casus belli or claims against your titles as this will stop them declaring war.
