@@HeyCara I am from Asia and I barely see anyone interact with Asia in these games. I know its Medieval and all that but the sandbox nature is what appeals to me. But play whatever, I am just a viewer. I find Taoism to be the religion that is rather rare in CK3 so that is interesting to me and I know a little bit about it.

Which is why I will wait a few years before buying CK3 when it's on sale, with the added benefit that it will probably be 50-75% off in a few years.

It already is a direct upgrade. Its only really missing republics(which were badly done in CK2), nomads(which were also badly done in CK2) and secret societies.

Yeah. Map is the biggest problem of CK3 in my opinion. It looks pretty but its not comfortable to use it. -There are much less types of Map. - Zooming out camera inevitably changes map, however thats not what always needed - CK2 is much more recognizable. I mean its easier to see borders, some key points etc. Overall CK3 is a good game and has a lot of new mechanics that i like and wanted in CK2 but for now, i do still prefer CK2 for the reason mentioned in the video, a bit less sims game. Somehow in CK3 i end up not caring about who is in my court at all. They work fine whether they like me or hate me and didn't feel significant increase of assassinating attempts

that's true! the world does feel a lot bigger in ck3, especially for wars and stuff

The 769 date was my favorite with shattered realms.

That happens too in Ck2, they can smell your lack of troops and will act accordingly if they had the right casus belli. This is better noticed with shattered world mods, when a count managed to capture a few counties in a blitz it gets immediately gangbanged by his neighbours, first the strongest ones, that finished up his army, and when he had literally no army, everybody joined the party and they just cease to exist. And it happened always, with a 100% chance. (It helps that they added a new casus belli in the mod, to conquer 1 county even if same religion). The biggest problem with the AI in CK2 as i see, is that they cant declare wars if they had levies raised, wich basically means that the bigger an AI empire becomes, the more useless it is, because they are losing precious time moving their entire army to crush some random revolts, while not doing absolutely nothing more while the player expands. And not to mention that even if they outnumber (and outclass) the rebels 30 to 1, they will raise every single levy on the realm, so there is a potential bankrupt, wich forbids them from declaring new wars as well. I had no idea how this works on CK3 though, i hope that they find some clever alternative.

@@asasas9146 Neither the player nor the AI can declare war with their levies raised because it would give a lot of advantages if either of them has already moved their troops to their foe's territory. This mechanic still exists in CK3 unfortunately. I think they can fix it if they use the EU4 mechanic where war can be declared as long as they are not standing on their target's territory.

@@jz9991z Yes, but as you know, the player can deal far better with this than the AI: You can declare multiple wars, you had mercenaries and retinues, spawned troops in some occasions, you can just dissolve your levies temporarily if an opportunity arises etc... The EU4 solution looks great, does the AI declare wars even when already in one? And can they deal with the economic problems of having all their troops raised for such a long time?

@@asasas9146 In EU4, the AI takes different approaches depending on their rulers' personalities (not without expansions). This is similar to CK. Normally, they would just dismiss most of their raised troops to lower their maintenance costs. Another approach would be limiting the maintenance costs you provide to your armies instead of dismissing them, but the morale will be affected. So far, I haven't seen AI taking the second approach though.

AI better in CK3. Just try going on a crusade for fun and witness the worst AI to ever exist. They will go to the Gulf of Persia and die for the holy water (Attrition)

The Xbox PC Game pass is 1 dollar for this month ..and you can play CK3 royal edition with it. I believe it's $1 this month, $4 next month. Then it goes back to $12/month again.

Its also much easier to get into. I have only a couple dozens hours in CK2 and after a while not playing it, returning to it and im lost again :D but CK3 i didnt even play the Tutorial and feels like i understand most of the things going on and what options i have. The new UI and info boxes helps ATON !

ck3 is definitely trying to become it's own sort of thing, which isn't a bad thing 😊 that sync thing does sound annoying though 😅

It's nice that you made an comparison video, so people can decide if it's worth buying for them. Personally I agree with what's said in this video and think if you like CK2 and have the money you should buy CK3 because it improves on the roleplay aspect a lot. I've only played around 10 hours so far but definitely think it was worth the money. It''s still gonna be difficult for somebody who's never played CK before but it's a little easier cuz the tooltips are better. Worth buying imo and good video :)

i think so too! and yeah, it's definitely not an EASIER game, but it is a lot more ACCESSIBLE, which is an important difference 😅 i do wonder what they're planning to do for the DLCs though..

You're right it is more accessible. But regarding DLC I think there is room for some very cool features with government types and stuff so I have hope that they come out with something good and not sunset invasion 2.0 lol

@@HeyCara I played more and I can agree the other maps are better (faith, cultures and development). I still think the main map is shit (Realms) Too many countries get the same color and the way you look at uncreated kingdoms and empires are stupid.

Would totally disagree. Even at the 3 year mark, CK2 had way more than CK3 has now. CK3 just got plagues lol CK2 at 3 years old was a way better game. How many more DLC will it take to get a proper Byzantium? A proper HRE? Venice? Republics? Only thing better about ck3 is the graphics, puddle deep otherwise

do you really think so? i actually thought it was way easier to get into, although maybe that's just because i had experience with ck2 🙇🏻‍♀️

@@HeyCara Now that I think about it, it seems to be less complicated than Ck2 in many areas. I have around 300 hours in Ck2, so I am definitely uses to it. I think I will enjoy Ck3 when I eventually buy it
