Do you like Smash Bros? Nintendos early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Smash 64 came out in '99, I think the series came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole game has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the game a big boost. The titles been compared to Digimon Rumble Arena 2, but I think 64 has a far more bitter, cynical sense of gameplay. In '01, Nintendo released this, Melee, their most accomplished game. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Fox", a character so fun, most people probably don't realize his greatness. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of up throw up air, and the importance of shine, it's also a personal statement about the game itself.

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Super Smash Bros Melee came out in '01, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. CRUSH AND SCAR'S CONTROLLERS ARE THE SAME! Crush's controller at 0:05 has an identifiable black band. That same band can be seen when scar whips out his controller at 0:40, but it changes when he slides it a few seconds later.
