if you have the drink package on Carnival, you can get a bottle of water every time you get a drink. You can take the waters back to your room and put in the fridge.

I have sailed Carnival around 15 times. One good tip is if you are going to play slots in the casino. Always put you sail and sign card into the slot machine. Because as you play you get points, they add up. If you should get to 2500 points you can get a free dinner in the steak house. You generate points on any games you play in the casino. But you generate the most points playing slots. Talk to the Casino host and ask about joining the casino club. You can get good deals on up coming cruises. Also the first thing any cruiser should do as soon as you board the ship is. GO TO YOUR MUSTER STATION AND WATCH THE DRILL. The ship can't sail until everyone does. So please don't go eat first. Muster first.

Start daily walking (1 mile) approx. 2 weeks prior to your cruise to get into shape for the walking on the ship

I have cruised carnival several times and I refuse to buy the drinks package. I sail with my wife and she don't drink. You have to buy the package for everyone in your room. So I mainly drink beer and not to many of the "umbrella drinks" lol so I check the app and some bars on the ship have bucket sales on certain days that is literally 1/2 price. Just need to buy the bucket and take them back to your room and put them in the fridge

Even if you're not much of a drinker, but enough a glass of wine with dinner, adults can bring 1 bottle of champagne or wine onboard each. But, pour yourself a glass in your cabin so they don't charge you a $15 corkage fee in dining room.

My very best tip was given to me just after the restart 2021. The day of your trip, get up a bit earlier and take your luggage to the port. Drop it off and get all of that going to the ship before you come back to check in. In most cases, it will be waiting outside your cabin when you get there. And you did not have to carry it.

Newer Carnival ships have more access to water. Bring your favorite insulated cup! My friend and I would just refill when we were about to head to our cabin for the night. These insulated cups also came in handy on hot days laying in the sun or getting off the ship.

My wife and I tip in cash as well as prepaid. You'd be surprized at the service we get with a cash tip

Always go online and look at the deck plan, locate your cabin and find where all of the spots you want to visit and how to get there from your cabin. Once on board After you take care of your safety briefing and unpack Roam the ship. You never know what you might find like Gatsby’s garden on the Miracle

Carnival is NOW doing the paper Carnival Fun Times. I really missed it and am so happy that it is back.

Faster to the fun was the best thing I ever did! Even my roommate that didn't think that it was necessary was very grateful after the first time we used it. We had an issue, sadly, with our drink card that we had purchased. They put them both in her name rather than one in each of our names so it made it easier to just go to the faster to the fun customer service desk. Also, if we needed to get off the boat faster on a tender that worked great too. Just depends on what you want and what you want to save on. For me I will be getting faster to the fun package each time if I can. This does sell out fast so you have to keep an eye on it.

Before you go look for a video tour on you tube and familiarize yourself with ship you are going on, especially the larger ones. If you are going on Mardi Gras or Celebration, the Serenity area is amazing! Also if you do your time dining you can eat at Cucina del Capitano or Chibang. I’ve sailed on a lot of the fantasy class ships that have been sold off. Of the remaining, I like the Glory and Miracle but the Horizon, Vista and Mardi Gras are my favorite. A lot of people don’t realize that you can eat breakfast in the main dining room instead of the buffet. Bring a multi plug so you can plug in more than one thing at a time if you are on one of the older ships. On the Horizon, Mardi Gras etc. they now have USB ports at the desk and by the bed. I’ll be on the Carnival spirit to Alaska in May. 😊

my tip: On all Carnival ships, there’s a bathroom in the Pixels area

If you want to max out your drinks, look for the 16oz or 19.2oz IPAs. They are stronger and you get more than a regular 12oz but it still only counts as 1 drink on your drink package.

Always have the card inserted in the slots so they track your play and might send promotions or give other perks. At least that is how they were on land in the casinos I have been to

If you get frustrated with crowds on embarkation day, just wait for the late time slot. Getting on board is so easy and seemless and you don't have to deal with the rush of everyone trying to get on board early. My family of four have found we love just simply waiting a little to get on board.

My first Cruise is on Carnival Liberty in May and I am beyond excited!!!

We have sailed carnival, and discovered a couple things, the Italian restaurant that charges for dinner had a free lunch the last time we cruised. In Progresso, if you are wanting to buy liquor by the bottle you can photograph it and if the store on he ship has it the will sell it at the lower price from the vendor.

I am amazed they let you bring your own soda onboard! My mate bought us the mini-cans of Coke for $4 prior to embarking. Fits well in the room frig. re: Havana area (in the aft or rear of the ship, deck five I think it was). Make sure your cabin isn't butt up against the walls of the Havana club or you'll be hearing the band through the wall all night! I suffered through the first night cause we didn't know this, but in the morning demanded to be moved away from that area. I would avoid the decks directly above or below it. I was recently on the Vista and on deck one which was far enough away.

Just went on my first cruise with my parents and they’ve been on 13! They ordered bottled water for the room. That was such a great thing to have! Room service for breakfast was free (certain foods) so it saved us time to order and not have to get ready and go up to the buffet. We would always leave cash tip for our person coming in and cleaning everyday. Also tipped room service when they came up. Everyone was so friendly

Research any new ports you've not been to. Find stuff to do so you don't miss out. You don't have to book excursions through the cruise line. It's usually cheaper and a better experience to book with locals anyways.

Going out on the Carnival Celebration this Sunday. Been on many Carnival Boats before.

Spend the extra for the drink package. It’s $60 a day, but you get 15 alcoholic and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks (including specialty coffees and teas) a day on it. At an average of $8-$10 per beer or mixed drink, it’s easy to justify the cost. Shop around for offsite parking. Each port area is different as for prices and reviews (after reading the reviews in Miami, we felt better shelling out port prices for parking). Out of Canaveral we always use Park Port Canaveral. You drop your checked baggage at the curb and that’s the last time you touch it until it gets delivered to your room. The buses are clean and the staff is very friendly. It’s around $10 a day, but compared to $17 ish at the Port, it’s a no brainer. We’re heading out on the Mardi Gras on June 24. First time on that ship. We’ll see if the Breeze is still my favorite ship after this.

If you plan on buying a lot of souvenirs, bring an extra empty tote bag with you so you can have a sturdy bag to bring all of it off with you.

Sailed Spirit in Feb, very beautiful ship, small compared to the others, still she's a ship and your odd/even tip is 👍🏽. I go a step further and I got lucky this last one!! Coming off elevator look at a wall or door, chances are someone will have door decor and the wall usually has people, proceed accordingly!! I agree on Faster to Fun, I arrived 15m early and boarded 15m early. Disembarking was just as smooth...save the money for other!!

My tip is 100% pay the xtra $$ for the Havana area! I felt like I was in my own private area. No crowds and excellent service.

On european cruise ships, it is quite common that the cruise cabins are odd numbered on the one and even numbered on the other side. I'm a little surprised that in the USA this seems to be rare. Carnival owns a few european cruise lines as well (e.g. COSTA Grociere and AIDA). Maybe they want to have it consistent on every ship?

If you prepay spa packages in advance, be aware that even though you have prepaid, your sail and sign account will incur the same charge of whatever massage or package that you purchased on the day you receive the service!!!! This will reduce the balance on your sail and sign account for that day!! It is released the next day, but this can impact your available balance for spending around the ship, on the day you get your treatment!!

We learned to book a full year or more out for the best prices.. The past few months Carnival hasn't had any good offers to make me book anything in 2024 yet... Come on Carnival take my money damnit lol

I love the pre-ordered water, but since we often order drink package we just request a bottle of water every time we order a drink! It doesn't count in your drink total and they are very willing to do it while they are handling your drink order anyway.

My tip is after you do the muster, go to your cabin and drop your carry on off. Just don't stay, drop off and leave.

I am going on Mardi Gras in April. It is not my first cruise but will be my first cruise on Carnival. I do not like their older ships at all but I think the XL class ships look great. Excited that there are so many options for included food. We will be trying the steakhouse as we do that on every cruise. Interesting that they have the beer machines, may have to look into that lol.

I don’t drink and I don’t get the bubbles package either, I’m more than happy just drinking the free all you can drink iced tea, lemonade and water dispensed into my tumbler. :)

If you're leaving out if NYC, Galveston or Norfolk, the drink package is void until day 2 of the cruise. Also, drink packages aren't honored on Half Moon Cay or Princess Cay, both are Carnival's private islands. That really affects the daily value.

We get faster to the fun primarily for the ease of disembarking. The should have called it faster away from the fun.

Texas cruisers out of Galveston beware: the drink package does NOT kick in when you board the ship in Texas! It doesn't kick in until 6AM the following morning!

I just got off the nudy cruise ship pride it is a old old ship food is not the same anymore cabin are out dated they were always panting the window were dirty. The cabin Stewart was great and the waiter are great food from 1 to 10 1 being bad it was a 4 to a 5 at best I will have a hard time going with them again. 🤬

You said you need to bring your phone I brought my phone was hooked in the carnival The only place I could register and check in to eat was right outside the dining room I had just got back from carnival a trip from hell I got nothing that I was promised I had to bubbly package which meant I had my drinks were all paid for not booze but soda water and all that but I went to get a tomato juice and they tried to charge me $8.95 for a tomato juice really watch what you're doing on the ship they'll try to get you any which way they can I'm in the process of writing a complaint letter to Christine Donahue the president of carnival because of the way I was treated I have a gold status on carnival I have a little over 30 days of sailing time I'm also a stockholder and I got treated so badly I'm considering to go cruising with another company now and I've only been with carnival because they always treated me well

Second cruise no and we got to know a family at the hotel that had faster to the fun, on boarding day we walk into the muster station right after boarding, they got on 5 min earlier then we did. Plus, I'm on vacation, leave the stress at home, and enjoy your cruise. Admitted I'm a people watcher. So I love laying back and watching people fight for minutes. You want ahead of me please.

Plastic bottles for water are the worst recommendation ever. It is so harmful to the environment. Every time anybody opens a plastic bottle they are painfully killing a small part of mother Earth. I have always carried two bottles of refillable and reusable water and have found plenty of water stations all around the ship and in the buffet areas. One bottle stays in the room at all times and the other bottle accompanies me as needed. NEVER has to run to a restaurant or bar for water as suggested by you. This applied to ALL ships and not just Carnival.
