I've never heard of a "current affairs class" but it sounds like a horrible idea. I don't want my kid getting a lecture on the latest corporate media headlines from a public school teacher. Propaganda class. It's your job as a parent to mold how your child thinks about the world, not the government, and you don't want the government doing it I assure you.

Amazing work? Where? They (Plot11) downloaded the documentary from the original source (Torsten Hoffman [Norddeutscher Rundfunk and Studio Hamburg Enterprises]) and posted it here on KZfaq. It's not a secret, it's clearly explained in the "details." Read for yourself. The "new" content business model for KZfaqrs is "borrowing" original works/documentaries and reposting it and hoping no one realizes it. Lucky for them, most people don't realize it.

A well-reasoned and balanced summary. My primary interest in BTC is to remove government control of the financial system which, i believe will result in a fairer society. However, as a result of this video, i can see a place for commercial blockchain use where efficiency rather than privacy is the main concern. It is up to the user to determine which they choose. One thing is for sure, SN's idea was revolutionary.

Don't worry, the original creator (Torsten Hoffman) of this film has done quite well. Plot11 just downloaded it from the original source, posted it on KZfaq and hoped no one would notice. From what I can find, four other KZfaq channels that have also posted this documentary. In total it has well over 1 million views. Not to mention this documentary is available on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and almost all streaming services.

I'm going to put it this way. If one man snapped his finger and suddenly all the major wholesalers, retailers, and merchants only accepted Bitcoin related purchases from February 2024 onwards, effectively resetting the deficits of most countries to equate a new system that issues Federal Reserve regulated digital currencies, then your local discount store like Dollar General would prevent you from buying any item worth the interpreted value of a Bitcoin. They can develop a 1:1 relational value tomorrow and some may be pauperized overnight. It's even worse that El Salvador is ahead of the United States.

Most of the technologies Bitcoin utilized were already there: the Internet, blockchain (data structure known from 1990s), asymmetric cryptography... the missing piece of the puzzle was the issue of Byzantine generals - and this has been solved by the proof of work decentralised concensus. The monetary system with fixed rules has been set up and the rest is history. Are there better implementations? Yes. Does it mean Bitcoin is obsolete? No. People use ancient technologies like JPEG and MP3 because these are good enough and became de-facto industry standards.

Wow, that was such an interesting and content rich submission. I am a basic working class dude who still believes cash is king. But this has made me think there may be another way of keeping more of my hard earned money...or can I, I'm not sure, however, I got me thinking even though I didn't understand it too much. Don’t worry, u don’t have to learn how to use and transact in crypto anymore in order to have exposure to its incredible returns. The btc ETF was just legitimized a couple days ago and has already begun trading on the NYSE. There are about 12 different etfs already available. One of them belongs to BlackRock. So just search for the btc etf tickers and you have exposure to btc. Personally it defeats the purpose of crypto because it’s meant to be used as a decentralized system of storing your wealth. But with the etfs you don’t have true ownership over your btc. Similar to a how owning gold etf stocks will give you exposure to the price swings but you don’t actually own the physical gold. But it’s better than no exposure at all because over the next couple years Bitcoin will be above 100,000 at a minimum. Hope this helps sir 🫡

The money supply would have to grow to give bitcoin its insane value. Because no one would be able to afford it only small slivers of it. Even all those other coins that were created in order for the coins to be funded you have to increase the money supply.

This movie is so far from being an unbiased take and is more akin to advert for Crypto. The movie is supposed to be about Bitcoin yet it completely avoids the massive energy cost to keep the blockchain running. And fails to mention the fact that El Salvador was trying to adopt it as the official currency, even offering citizens $ 30 preloaded on the accounts, and it still didn't take hold. Shops didn't want to accept it cause the value of Bitcoin fluctuated to wildly and transactions were slow. He also didn't mention that big hedge funds viewed Bitcoin as unregulated securities that they could manipulate for their own profit. Why would anyone spend a resource if they expect considerable appreciation in the near future? Bitcoin and blockchain is a solution looking for a problem.

just buy COIN (listed on the NASDAQ )on a monthly basis from a percentage of your disposable income and you should get to a million dollars in the next 10 or so years, depending on your monthly purchase. Remember, at any time you might lose as much as 90% of your money, but dont give up. Religiously purchase COIN on a monthly basis and if you get to $10 million, losing 90% would still net you a million dollars

Estimates of the number of atoms in the observable universe range from 10^78 to 10^82, the number of possible Bitcoin wallets is 2^160. Each Bitcoin address is a combination of 256 bits represented by 32 hexadecimal characters. This translates to 2^256 possible combinations for every address. However, half of these addresses are invalid, leaving the actual number of possible addresses at 2^256/2, which equals 2^160. The first time I heard this claim, I didn't believe it either, but it actually makes sense. The number of Bitcoin wallets is very large, and the number of atoms in the universe is an estimate. It is about this number that it is said that it is greater.

@@SamuelFelix 👌🏾 Regardless, the claim is paradoxical in that, should every Bitcoin wallet be produced in the observable Universe their value is added to the total number of estimated atoms for the Universe. Both are technically estimations. Another point, by the time crypto-anarchy converts every consumer to its product, the dollar that it is based on would have completely lost its value. It shows who invests in crypto are those who support Queer Theory to an extent.
