He says that he needed stitches after being raped as a kid, then says he has no idea where his anger issues came from. Denial is the minds ultimate defense mechanism. This is heartbreaking. Childhood sexual abuse, is basically a form of murder.

I feel this guy. Once again, a child's life is ripped from them by an abuser, and the child is then left to deal with hardship for the rest of their lives. They don't realize that they are just coping at the time. I hope Monty gets better. Glad the the abuser got his ass kicked, but wish he had been arrested.

When Monty said "I think I'm a good person," it killed me. Despite the world treating him like shit, he still sees his own inherent value. I don't think we have a natural ability to love ourselves. It's hard to know what to do as an adult. Even harder for a child, much harder. I think governments should launch advocacy ads but they do not have the capacity to handle all the cases. It looks to me like the UK is trying to create a safety net called safe guarding where professional adults who are likely to come into contact with children in all kinds of organisations are trained to know how to respond to children who say they are being abused and can also spot the signs. I think we also need to have places for adults who know they have a problem and are willing to try to change. Paedophile rings or adults who abuse others must be hunted down and dealt with in ways that make examples of the abusers NOT the abused. In other words create a culture which doesn't harbour people who harm others and secondly make it easier for everyone to heal and move on. That's why having sooooo many people tell their story is important. It's changing our culture, making people think about, want and call for a solution

Sleep dep is no joke. Back when I was a dumb teenager I stayed up for over 72 hours with not a minute of sleep and I blacked out. Brain went to bed and body stayed awake. I’m not sure how long I was like that or what all I did but luckily I ended up in my bed and all I saw the next day when I woke up was some trash around the room and some bizarre texts I didn’t remember sending. I got lucky I didn’t do anything crazy. I coulda been dead or in prison for killing someone completely unwillingly. That was a wake up call for sure. Don’t do drugs people and if you’re going to anyway at the very least make sure you eat, drink and sleep even if you gotta lay in bed for hours just to sleep for a half hour… I thank god every day that I had that scare before I started using a needle.

So often in drug addicts, you can almost pinpoint the moment when their lives fell apart, and so very often that moment involves getting sexually assaulted. When that happens, especially as a child, it breaks a person on every level. This is the result of the life-long damage that it causes. This is why I hate sexual predators so much, and this is why I protect my own children with my life.

I was sexually abused at 7 years old by my step-dad [at the time. Luckily whenever I finally told my mother, she turned her car around from leaving my school and immediately called 911. This was back in 93-94]....and I think it very much contributed to me being an addict. I'm in recovery for the most part. Hit a few bumps in the road but I have not used a needle to inject her0in/m3th in 5 years and no h in 5 years either. Once you're on the needle it completely changes your life. You think you're on cloud 9 but it's really hell. Made me hit rock bottom and lose everything i had other than a bacnpack, several overdoses, detox and rehab centers, death of others, abcesses even 1 in my lung needing it drained and a long hospital stay. Methadone... Everything and I still couldn't stop. You really do become addicted to the process of injecting, the sex and for me I have no drive being off everything. But I could care less I am just greatful because 5 years is the longest I've accomplished so far since a teen. I am 36 now. Sending positive vibes to this man. I will never say any addict is a lost cause because there is always hope and I'm on anyone's side whoa trying to live again.

He didn't find a way to ease the pain. He just found a new pain to hide the other pain. Drugs don't make you feel better, just different. Trading one misery for another. Hiding from problems doesn't solve them, nor does it mask the pain the problem causes. Addicts aren't hiding from pain. They are hiding from responsibility. Pain is just their excuse, and their justification. They use it to manipulate others sense of empathy, to gain a pass from the outside world.

Happy 1st day to your senior!! My daughter started 4th grade today. I pray that all the kids have a safe and healthy year. I took a shower this morning and made a promise I would not have a drink until my birthday. I feel like both my husband and I are teetering on alcoholism. I don't drink everyday but when I do I go hard and I hate feeling hungover. I think by the time your in your 40's it just too much. I had my fun and now it's time to live by example. ❤ seems like everyone drinks around me but I'm making some changes and it starts today!!

Think about what you just said…so you wish Monty had never been born? He said early in the interview that he sees himself as a good person. Every person’s life has value. I know it’s tough to watch Monty struggling, but he still values his life, and so should we. I do agree that we should try to plan and set up our kids for the best chance in life, but it is simply impossible that every situation can always be perfect. People born from bad situations matter, too. We should not just say they should not be born; that’s a false image of love.

Still on suboxone maintenence which I'm not thrilled about, but nonetheless, it would be great to see a few representative "normies" who are in recovery tell their story. Maybe not exactly the focal point of this channel, but it could be interesting. Congrats on your sobriety and marriage btw!

Only 5 years ago, i was still in that trap. One shot of meth, and anything goes, everything he says is true. The desire to have sex with anyone is as addictive as the drug. Takes complete control over you once enters your system, and you no control over it. Grace of God, i'll be free from that life 5 years this October. I'll be 71, so age is not barrier with addiction. The fact i'm not dead, not deseased, have job, beautiful wife and working with others in recovery, is miracle which i don't take lightly. it's horrible situation be in, blessed to get out of it. Pray anyone in addiction, will find ray o it exists for everyone.

Heartbreaking. I appreciate you telling your story. The pushups are clues to a solution to your anger. By defusing the mind you can overcome any negative state and the best way is a simple breath meditation. All drug abuse is inability to process strong emotions which stem from negative and traumatic upbringing.

I have to disagree about what you said about all drug abuse is the inability to process strong emotions which stem from negative and traumatic upbringing. @@jamierupert7563 I didn't express myself correctly I meant all of his drug abuse not all drug abuse in general. Dear Monty! You didn't have much of a chance really. Born by a crack, heroine and alcohol addict doesn't give you a favour. You were born with withdrawls for the worst drugs there are. You were abused so bad it tore you. You had to be stitched together again. That's just so horrible I can't even process it. But the worst thing is that for you that probably wasn't the worst part. Because being abused destroy you mentally. And that's something that you'll be struggling with for life, more or less. I really hope you can get in touch with someone who has been abused themselves and is a therapist. A person like that can change your life. If you ever want to get clean you need to do some serious work on your mental health but you come across as very disciplined so I'm sure you can do whatever you set your mind to. I wish you all the best, Monty, you deserve so much more than this. You seem to be a humble, decent, nice and reflective person. You don't belong in the streets. You're a resource for society if you get clean, you can help other people in your situation. You have an insight that never can be taught in school. That insight is extremely valuable. I hope you get the strength you need to start the process of getting clean. Lots of love from Norway.
