Yes, it's a special kind of boot. Made out of leather with traditional methods, the sole is made out of and covered with leather aswell with the heel having a wooden block in it allowing the dancer to stop loudly(also protecting his feet, absorbing some fo the energy when they land after a jump). The bootleg/top is usually(but not always) hardened leather making it loudern when slapped :)

Not really. Since the whole thing still works by the old-fashioned methods of shoemaking, the repairing aspect is present the very same way. If cared for properly, a pair of dancing shoes or performing boots can last quite a few years, maybe even decades. You need to get the heel and generally the sole replaced every year or two. Sometimes the leather upper rips but in most cases that can be fixed aswell. Just so you get a better picture: a newly made dancing shoe, ankleboot or performing boot will cost between about 15000 and 50000(it rarely goe that high its usually between 15K and 30K). Used you can get them for a lot less. Getting your sole fixed will cost you up to 6000 forint. If you need to get it fixed every 1,5 years, its still pretty cheap!

I bought my shoe in the beggining of April so about 11 month ago, I dance on average 3-4 hours a week and so far its doing great and the only thing that got worn down is a nail in the heel but I fixed that myself

Thanks for the answers!. Perhaps I was wrong to compare these boots with a pair of normal shoes (like mine) in which, for example, the leather soles and heels can be consumed. (sincerely I don't always treat well my shoes!!).
