@@GPpastorE Seniority guys on CSX had some agreement with the BLE/UTU as some 'extra' pay code if the locomotive did not have a wash sink; us new hires did not get this. I understand, passed on no caboose. Conrail didn't have 'em when I worked for them; an old SD/GE cab would be crammed. I didn't fall 'under' this old agreement.

I haven’t been in the cabin of a diesel since I was like 7. It was at Blue Ridge Railway and I actually tried to blow the horn which would be deafened everyone else on the engine waiting to see the cabin. The engineer stopped me just in time

Now you are not 7 years old but you can get on a locomotive and now if the horn and bell are to sound on each cruise jajajaja ... hopefully soon you will upload a video inside the cabin ... greetings friend from Mexico !!!

@FXE40925 жыл бұрын

Ice boxes only on CSX. There are no warmers or hot plates on their locomotives.

CN has coffee percolator on a hot plate. Microwave oven and a refrigerator. I understand it's because sometimes they get stuck in the middle of nowhere for extended periods of time in winter.

@FXE40927 жыл бұрын
No friend trains do not use engine brakes as used by a tractocamion, but if you have a similar brake called dynamic brakes.

How does a locomotive (engine) stop on its own when not pulling a train?
@redrock7177 жыл бұрын
Robert Gift you can use the train brake pulling a train or not. Most engineers just use the locomotive brake though.
